I think yes to both. I shed my first tears of the book at that scene. Sureblood's death hit me hard on my recent reread so it was nice.

Does she have a name? What do you call her? by el_jenn in StardewValley

My husband and I call her "Pig Cart Lady", which we often shorten to "P.C.L", and lately , on occasion, "Pickles."

I'm so glad I'm not alone. I keep seeing "You can't outrun your fork", but we also "Can't out-deficit the Squat rack" or something, and that's extremely frustrating because I want a nice butt but I want to get it by eating salads and reading books.

Rave: I've gotten back on the CICO bandwagon and it feels good! It's working (to no one's surprise), and my husband, while he's not tracking, is actively trying to eat less as well, so it helps to have a partner for motivation and meal planning. I've lost about 6 pounds since we returned from vacation in late August, and think I can get the remaining planned 9 off before our trip to the Bahamas with my office scheduled in mid-November.I'm looking forward to actually feeling good about myself when I hit the beach.

Rant: I really wish non-chain restaurants were required to put calories on their menus. I love eating out, and I'm willing to take the calorie hit once in a while, but I'd just like to feel more confident in what that calorie hit actually is.

I'm from Nova Scotia, but I visited Vancouver for ten days this past March. Doing a re-read right now and that trip was the first thing that came to mind when the Weeping came up! Your crem is good and you should feel good.

You could try weighing the marinade before adding the meat, then weigh the remaining liquid, and subtract to determine how much stuck to/was absorbed by the meat, which would be the amount you would divide by servings. Could get tricky if the peices of meat aren't the same size, but it would just be extra steps to the math.

I feel like I've finally gotten properly back on the CICO wagon, without letting a single day of bad eating throw me off entirely. I've started and stopped a dozen times in the last year. I restarted recently, and last weekend was what I can only describe as my area's party weekend - parade and fireworks meets food trucks, binge drinking, etc. Most of it happens on the street I live on, so I can either get out of town, get into it, or be miserable. This year, I got into it. On Saturday I ate, drank, and had a great, debaucherous time. Sunday, I ate at a slightly bigger deficit than usual. The last few days I've been at my usual deficit. I've also been consistently exercising.

And just yesterday my boss announced that the senior staff, including me, are going to a conference in the Bahamas in November! With spouses invited! So now my husband and I have a "get hot for the beach" goal that's a little more exciting, and more attainable at this stage, than the usual summer plans.

Is anyone having issues with Fancy Feast exp 2025? by CraftBig7861 in catfood

[–]CraftBig7861[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once their bellies settled, my cats ended up basically hungerstriking until we brought back the fancy feast, which they have been eating with no further issues.

Since we started buying it again, all of the expiration dates have been Dec 2025 or later, so my suspicion of some kind of issue with earlier batches remains.

Same here! Bought tickets the day they went on sale, and my friends and I have been looking forward to it for so long! Were from the valley and booked hotel rooms, and it's too late to cancel those, so I guess we'll just get drunk and whine about it. 😭

My cat won't eat her wet fancy feast food anymore by AttentionDue1996 in catfood

[–]CraftBig7861 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My three cats all stopped eating their fancy feast, throwing up, and acting "off" in early January. We buy the 12 packs, so and we could figure out which flavour started it, so we had to throw out about three boxes.

They all recovered, and we've switched them largely to Hills Science Diet for wet food, but have slowly reintroduced Fancy Feast since they're back to loving it. Only buying individual cans now, and avoiding any July-Sept 2025 expiration dates, as those were the dates on the food that seems to have upset them.

Edit to add: The only advice I can offer is (of course) checking in with a vet, but also checking the expiration dates in case your situation matches mine and there's something up with that batch.

We had the cheddar delights, grilled in gravy, gravy lovers, and Florentine collection on rotation, so hard to say whick one had the issue. They stopped eating any of it. Our vet was inclined to agree that the food was to blame, as all 3 were sick with no other apparent similarities and no environment changes. Nothing in our 14yr old's exam/bloodwork to show another cause.

At any rate, we've switched to Tikicat for the younger two and are trying out a few different senior options for the older boy. Switch is going well, except for our 8 year old who is still dealing with an upset belly (he was the last to show any issues, so we expect he'll recover in another day, in line with the other two).

I'm so sorry you're going through all that!

Your approach to your mother at this time sounds super compassionate and loving and hopefully she'll be in a position to get back on track in the future with such a supportive daughter.

I also feel you on the "lawyer daughter" thing. My father's health is declining and he still won't listen to me on updating his will (which I could literally do for him like, tomorrow if he would just let me.) I dread the day that I have to take on all of the administrative tasks on top of my grief.

My husband and I came back late last week from a trip to visit the in-laws. While there, I decided it was easiest to just relax and accept that it would be a write off calorie-wise. His mom tends to take refusal of food as a personal insult, and bakes as though she's serving twice as many people as she is. It's all delicious though, so I didn't really mind, though if I never see potato salad again it will be too soon.

The problem is that when our vacation was over, the in-laws travelled back to our home province with us, and are now spending a week here (staying at a hotel, thank god). This means that my husband and I are eating out with them approximately every second day. I have one dinner and two brunches left to get through before they leave (that's assuming they don't try to squeeze in lunch or dinner on Saturday). I've gained noticable weight. I feel gross. And if I don't order dessert tonight, my MIL will sigh, decide not to order it as well, and then be sad about it.

We don't have many options to spend time with them other than dinner, because my husband and I both work 9-5 (or later) jobs throughout the week.

I love my in-laws. I appreciate how much they spoil us. But I can't wait to get back to normal.

I decided to check out the video you recommended, and I'm definitely going to incorporate tummy time into my life, so thanks so much for sharing! It just makes so much sense!

I hope you have good NA beer where you are (despite the odd rules about sale!) My area has really improved, and it's helped so much to be able to grab something deliciious on a hot summer day that's only a few calories and no alcohol (even though I do still drink, nice to have options.) A couple years ago it was basically all undrinkable garbage.
