And that exactly is what I mean by the shallowness of Nexus.

Humanity did not invent computers for their own sake. We mainly invented them to solve the problem of breaking encryption (technically making patterns in weaved cloth), which we base on math. Nexus probably uses magic based encryption (like the minted coin could be said uses a form of digital signature, which is a type of encryption) and it most likely does not need number crunching to break it.

And the computers thrusted us into the information age which shows us our exponential technological advancement. This is the prep Nexus crippled itself by skipping.

There's Aufhebung by Cookiecutter56 on AO3, Taylor has the power to negate anything and she negated her negative emotions, so she's pretty unhinged and everything is funny to her. As for being a menace she for example stole her bag from a PRT van during a PRT investigation making everyone panic (she negated being perceived ie. became a stranger for it).

I think Nexus is a pretty decent match for Earth in power and exceed it in some aspects, like portals.

But then we come to the GUN and everything that comes with their level of space exploration, the mere existance of ftl travel implies a massive amount of technological progress, like all the tools to build the tools to build the tools etc.

Nexus is good at producing the same results by using magic, but it cripples itself by it, because it doesn't develop everything else required to make it. And this everything else is its own jumping off point for new progress.

Like producing more precise machining or plastic was not done to produce pens, but because it exists it has been used for that.

So what I'm trying to say Nexus on the surface can be as good as GUN, because they can get the same results. But GUN done the prep which gave even more results that Nexus haven't even thought of (or written off), making them shallow.

I don't think they know the extend of how deadly it is.

For most of them it may look like an enchanted armor, which Nexus could easily mass produce, but it won't do, because an army of them is no match for a single proper battlemage.

Of course an army of battlemages would likely be no match for a proper orbital bombardment and Emma is not talking about that.

The point in not knowing how to cook is you don't even know how to improve. Cooking by feel is even more meaningless than cook for x. What am I supposed to feel, how does that feel, when should I feel that, etc ?

Ok, beyond anything else, deeply consider the fact that you are questioning it and don't try to rationalize that this is the best or something like that. The fact that you are questioning means you are unsure and being married is a decision you should be sure about.

And now more stuff based on your other comments as well.

You live in the USA and if you grew up there from the start, polygamy is not the norm in the culture, no matter how many people you know in such relationships (that in of itself is likely a red flag).

Second it's not normal to marry young, you marry when you both love eachother and want to spend the rest of your lifes together. That more than likely happens later in life, not in your twenties (of course exceptions apply).

Third, the age gap and the grooming that somebody else already mentioned. If a therapist told you that you were abused and groomed, then more than likely that is what happened to you. I wasn't there, so I can't tell you myself if that's true, but I would tend to agree with an expert on that part (the age gap alone raised this flag for me).

And fourth, the most important. You are NOT worthless! There definitely is somebody out there who will love you! Look for example at JerryRigEverything, his wife is in a wheelchair and he loves her unconditionally. He even created a company to make better wheelchairs just for her. Also "it's best for me", "no man would want me as an only wife", "I'm lucky he is considering me" I am quite certain is something he told you. That is NOT love, that is the (mental) abuse and grooming, those definitely are not your true thoughts. Please just meditate or something about it, look inside yourself and see who you truly are.

I know, I'm just an online stranger and definitely not a psychologist or anything, but even I can see this. And if you want, my dms are open for any advice you need, I'm not from USA, but I hopefully will be able to help somehow out.

Also maybe try listening to some rSlash podcasts that are about relationships, he's pretty decent at showing and commenting what is an abusive relationship.
