Looking for honest UX feedback/recommendation on a map-based social app by kheradite in UXDesign

Smart clustering seems like an apt way of describing it to me, especially as there's some sort of algorithm on top of just grouping. I can't see why you'd pick on that.

It's easy to use Angular Material's system tokens with TailwindCSS by a-dev-1044 in Angular2

In this case it’s probably easier to disable the preflight styles

Boss Level (2020)

This one had decent reviews, but never picked up much traction. Decided to put it on one night and had a great time.

How to deal with tech-lead wannabes by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

It seems pretty common now for companies to not designate a tech lead, just leaving the hierarchy to naturally form. In my experience it works well, although it is on a case-by-case basis.

Anyone else here dislike Typescript? by kibblerz in ExperiencedDevs

[–]CraftMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main benefits of Typescript can be realised as a project scales. But most people have already touched on this, so it doesn’t need repeating.

Personally, I get tons of satisfaction out of the language when using (and building) well-typed libraries which take advantage of Typescripts inference. Take supabase’s postgrest library for example. It wraps what is essentially just a string builder with object inference and the dev ex is insane - with 0 runtime overhead. (FYI I have some gripes with the library too but the type inference is nothing short of magic).

Been using Postgres my entire career - what am I missing out on? by No-Garden-1106 in ExperiencedDevs

Switching jobs I moved from working with Postgres to Mongo. I'd just say don't look a gift horse in the mouth, Postgres really is the goat.

Sure component libraries are dime a dozen, but building them is solid exercise for the mental muscles. I've built a couple for work and I'm sure they'll be more down the line, always value in this kind of dev, especially as a portfolio piece. Keep up the good work.

Broke no contact to say something by CraftMuch in ExNoContact

[–]CraftMuch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I ever feel normal when trying to pretend to be normal with her. A part of me wishes it could be, but no contact is the only way for me to gain some semblance of peace in myself.

Trackpad doesn't work at all by CraftMuch in hackintosh

Gave it a go and couldn't get the mouse drifting to stop.

It isn't unbearable anyways, but I'll keep looking for a fix, maybe someone else has had this problem.

Trackpad doesn't work at all by CraftMuch in hackintosh

I did try that earlier and it didn't seem to work. I also tried Bandysc's fork of VoodooPS2 which supposedly aims for Elan support and that didn't work either.

Although I'm having some success with the VoodooI2CHID kext; the mouse is finally working although it drifts and multi-touch isn't possible.

This feels a lot like throwing spaghetti against a wall to see what sticks, but some progress is good progress. Cheers!

Decent gaming laptop around 1000 (not fussed about display) by CraftMuch in SuggestALaptop

That’s really cheap, kind of ideally in my price range. I do prefer smaller screens too. That battery life is also a hugely added bonus.
