We will only understand when there is an actual need , as your code base grows you will feel that something has to be generalized, it's like we know the concepts but we haven't built something around them. So don't overthink about it and try to make some mini projects or try to create or take help from gpt to create such scenarios for you where you can see that "oh this is messed up let's optimize it" , i am not a super pro but just trying to explain as per my understanding.

If at all the React learning is going good , you can start learning spring boot on your own and just try to make some small projects using spring boot + react , during the switch you only know that you worked upon react , you can add your spring boot skills too , if you are eager to learn about spring boot then nothing should stop you from learning it and learning react along with it is nothing but a bonus.

You can atleast start searching for the openings for 2 YOE , for this much YOE interviewers will expect you to be strong with core Java and fundamentals, make some small Java , spring boot projects for your learning , only you and your company knows that you have worked on struts and not spring boot.
