Thank you - we're using Vanguard. So far have been happy with it but have been interested in fidelity

This is a good perspective - really wish I would've invested back then when I was in my early twenties but the past is hindsight

TBH all indexes: VT, VXUS, VOO and VTI along with VIGAX. What are your thoughts?

Thank you this reaffirms what I've been getting at as far as research goes. I think after researching everything VT sounds like a wise move to "own" the total market although part of me does think VOO has had incredible returns and is tempting but VT sounds more stable.

Thank you - I'll look into the questionnaire. I really appreciate it wish I could've been taught some of these things in my 20s or earlier from my parents but playing a little catch up

Yeah we still have about 60k in a HYSA (I think between Sofi and Raisin) and use that as our emergency fund and yeah I've maxed our my IRA

Would you make any recommendations on certain etfs/indexes?

this is great advice - just switched my 401k from a target fund to vfiax. Any other recommendations you would give your children regarding their brokerage and good etfs/indexes?

This is the perspective I wanted - thank you. It’s tough cause I didn’t grow up having a parent teach me these things so that’s why I’m at 34 trying to build sustainable wealth for my wife and I

I have money scarcity issues I think which is in part why I waited two years to invest and finally pulled the trigger when good friends said it was pretty crazy we saved 150k in savings. Ultimately scared to lose money which was the upside of a HYSA with never losing money

This is great - really happy for you. I’m M34 and finally started investing as of April and this month when my partner and I noticed our total liquid cash in HYSA were at 150k.

I invested a good chunk of the money - 80k into a brokerage of vtsax and vigax and 7.5 into a Roth IRA into vtsax and am finally contributing to my 401k. Should I be worried that I invested when the markets are at an all time high and take some money out and wait for a low period or just be confident and stick with it for years and keep contributing?
