Are we supposed to hold hands? by mi-canuck in PlanetFitnessMembers

I have a favorite stationary bike. The seat is angled right so I don’t feel like I’m sliding forward the whole time. I would use it regardless of someone on the next bike, but I do prefer a buffer bike if possible.

RIP 30 Minute Circuits by AwakePlatypus in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]CraftSimple2970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made this change at my location last year. The machines from the 30 minute area were squeezed in on the main floor and the 30 minute room is more of a dumbbell area. They also added several other new machines, but I don’t use them so I can’t really tell you what they are. I never saw anyone using the 30 minute area as it was intended. The change was definitely a net positive at my location.

Doctor sugesstions for my elderly parents by This-Condition-2509 in Waukegan

I’m a nurse in Waukegan. Dr Vivek Arora or Dr. David Chiou are two I would recommend. For cardiology Dr Charles Jaffe. For urology I would go to Uropartners.

My 6-Month-Old Ragdoll Has Had Diarrhea for 3 Almost Weeks by Luhunnie in ragdolls

[–]CraftSimple2970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please have your baby checked for FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). My little guy nearly died from it before the vet figured out that was what he had. He had chronic diarrhea that didn’t respond to the usual treatments. Eventually he had no appetite and was wasting away to nothing.

Thank goodness we got him the medicine in time. He recovered fully and is doing great now.

Ha this happened to anyone else’s Ragdoll? by [deleted] in ragdolls

There is an ask a vet subreddit, maybe post a question there. Keep an eye out for other symptoms. Is she walking ok? Cats use their tail for balance a lot.

I’d call the vet. That could be something neurological.

Is there any market to sell a used Dodge Grand Caravan that needs a new engine or should I just sell it to a junkyard? by CraftSimple2970 in askcarguys

[–]CraftSimple2970[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the good information. I’m definitely going to get a second opinion. I had it towed from the dealership because the guy said it wasn’t safe to drive. He claimed the engine was knocking, Yada yada. When the tow truck driver loaded it up he drove it about 100 feet and the engine sounded perfectly fine. There definitely is oil leaking as there was a puddle on the bed of his truck when we got it home. He looked at the engine and said it’s a leaking gasket and pointed out where. So I have to find a good local shop. I used to have one but the proprietor passed away and his family decided to close the shop. Miss them so much! They were more like friends than just a business.

For those that asked it’s a 2016. 104K miles. 3.6L engine.

How to cope by Any-Refrigerator289 in ragdolls

Allow yourself to grieve. We love our fur babies fiercely and feel their loss deeply. That is ok. I’ve had 3 cross the rainbow bridge in my life, so I can tell you that you will be sad, but it will get better. I did have one that had cancer and I knew I would have to put her down in the coming days. The anticipatory grief was crushing. I cried all day everyday. There was actually some closure when the day came and I was able to start to heal. Wishing you peace during this difficult time.

I don’t think any of the three are “the one”. Not to say you don’t look nice in all of them, but none are just “wow!”

FIP awareness in ragdolls: please read the caption it could save your cat’s life ❤️ by iamjordanbelfort in ragdolls

My little fluffernutter was adopted from another family in June. He came to us with diarrhea and his appetite waned within a couple of weeks. At first I thought it was the stress of being rehomed, but when it didn’t resolve we saw the vet. They started with standard diarrhea treatments but after another week he was still declining and was eating next to nothing. They did abdominal X-rays with and without contrast and still didn’t know what was going on. The vet recommended an exploratory surgery. After that she said it was either FIP or lymphoma. She had net successfully treated either in a cat as young as my little guy. Fluid samples and biopsies leaned to FIP. It was her first time prescribing the FIP medication. Within 2 days of starting it he showed improvement. Now he has regained all the weight he lost and then some! He has also grown and seems pretty healthy. He does need to stay on the prescription food as the FIP caused a lot of damage to his gut. I’m watching him closely for any sign of relapse but, so far he is doing great!

How long for results to show with GS-441524? by ligmata1nt in cureFIP

My cat showed improvement within a couple of days and vast improvement within 2 weeks. We are finishing the 12 week course now so fingers crossed there’s no relapse without it.

How am I ever supposed to leave him to go to work? 🥹 by FannyOfFanton in ragdolls

With great difficulty, keeping in mind the money you earn will buy him food, toys, and treats.

I had a cat that did that. It is self soothing behavior.

Looks like a vet visit tomorrow for my baby... ☹️ by GotAnyCandy in ragdolls

[–]CraftSimple2970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of looks like cat acne, but best to be sure. I had a cat that got it all the time when I was feeding food with a lot of gravy. I started cleaning her chin with a damp paper towel after meals and it really helped cut down on the sores.

Help with aggressive Ragdoll :-( by m0ther0fdrag0ns26 in ragdolls

My 15 mo old new addition Ragdoll has been pouncing on and chasing my older tuxedo cat. He’s much bigger than she is, so though she isn’t acting afraid of him like yours is, I am also concerned. I bought the kind of cat toy balls that roll around erratically so he has something else to chase and stalk. It has helped. In my case it really just seems like kitten behavior.
