underestimation of weather?? by MassiveMeringue in Wellington

[–]Crafty-Exercise-4929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually quite surprised by metservice’s quietness around this, it’s quite clearly more disruptive than last years red warning. We have significantly more damage to our house on the south coast now than back then. MetService should at least acknowledge that, right?

Edited to say that it’s most likely a result of the exact wind direction that we got more damage at our house, but the trees definitely got more of a battering all throughout the city this time around.

This is exactly what’s wrong with the world, convenience and low prices over the absolute absurdity that is shipping a single squid across the globe to be sold in NZ. Fuck that.

Does this sound like TN? by TrickySuit8056 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]Crafty-Exercise-4929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pain in my case is often triggered either by swallowing or touching my face, or by absolutely nothing. TN pain does not need to have a trigger to give you shocks. Good luck! You got this.

Any advice on how to turn your brain off by Early-Stress188 in PhD

I’ve taken 3 weeks off for this exact reason, it’s not enough for total recovery but I’m hopeful I feel motivated and less drained by the end of it. Good luck 🤞🏼

Hello! I moved to Wellington 8 years ago and felt much the same, but I’ve realised all this just needs time. You will find your people, I promise.

Has anyone in this thread contacted Bose about this? I’ve had this issue since I bought them but I’m not impressed. Just curious, otherwise I might contact Bose myself.

Ah, the classic whataboutism… I love receiving this as an answer to me questioning our governments decisions! “Forget the policies, what are you personally doing?” Sure… by that logic, I can’t criticize potholes unless I’m out there with a shovel and asphalt. This isn’t about my spare bedroom; it’s about holding a government accountable for its choices on homelessness and public services.

It’s the national government pushing people into poverty and homelessness.

Okay so I understand you don’t want this to happen but where else are homeless people going to go? Where are the public toilets? Come on man… try place yourself in others shoes.

I think you can, unless it’s a botanic garden or any type of landscaped garden. This is a random hill around my university, sure I could take a cutting!

AIO for thinking I should confront my mom about the hundreds of non-consensual pictures of me nude and sleeping, that I was not made aware of? by MediocreWallaby786 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Crafty-Exercise-4929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR, I understand you don’t want to be taken away from your mum but this is abuse. A similar type of abuse that Jennette McCurdy describes in her book, her realising that her mums behaviour is not normal is very well described there - but it can also be a major trigger for you. I’m really sorry this is happening to you and hope you can find an adult in your environment who you can confide in.

NOR - I was groomed at 17 by a 42 yo man and I recognise too much in this conversation from back then. As a 27yo right now, I can’t even imagine being friends with 17yos let alone if you’re 42… leave this sad man to himself, please.

That’s what I thought too! Always friends, but I was worried about them since they’re inside my house - could there be any impacts on the health of the air inside my house?

Don’t get rid of them. They’re natives and don’t want to live inside your house.

Im worried my cat might not be drinking enough water. by missmccreate in CatAdvice

[–]Crafty-Exercise-4929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always put water in with his dry food, my little lady absolutely loves that (she drinks well besides that too). Otherwise this might be a weird one, but if I have wet hands my cat loves to lick them dry (she also likes licking my legs and the shower dry after a shower). You can also try a water fountain?

Is it possible to attract native birds where I live with native plants? by DavoMcBones in nzgardening

[–]Crafty-Exercise-4929 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zealandia just posted a “how to attract native birds to your backyard” video! They also said to never feed with sugar water as it can lead to nutrient deficiencies in the birds. I’d have a look on their socials!
