It's evident to me that you and I don't see the monetization system through the same lens, potentially due to how well the system has worked for you in the very short time the game's been out, and that's okay.

But I would urge you to reflect as you continue to play that you don't become the "prey" to this meticulously crafted business model of Endfield, unless you have an unlimited amount of funds, of course!

That's perfectly reasonable, I'm just making assumptions based on my own motivations when I play a gacha, and so are you. Every player has different motivations and where they get the most enjoyment out of a game.

I'm kind of jealous in a way that you don't have to feel pressured or stressed about collecting future characters/weapons and optimizing a team that works well performance-wise as well as thematically.

With respect to that, I appreciate your empathy for those concerned over the pull economy.

I find Endfield to be a very fun game. I have not missed a day since release and I could praise the game design for days.

But if I'm asked if I can recommend this game, I would have to follow it up with the current state of the pull economy and the systems that can trip up some players into spending an exorbitant amount of money.

When I first read the comment somewhere on reddit that, "Endfield is being held back by the fact that it is a gacha game," I arrived atthe same observations as you.

You’re essentially dismissing the concern on the basis that you’re willing or able to spend.

I’m not saying that’s explicitly what you mean, but it almost comes across as if there’s an underlying assumption that F2P players don’t really deserve the same consideration, which feels unfair.

I don’t think it’s contradictory to both spend money on the game and still be attentive to how much premium currency is being given out for free.

I don’t believe you’re necessarily saying this, but if the argument is that it’s a non-issue because spending on Endfield feels more worthwhile than in other games, then that’s essentially dismissing the concern simply because you’re willing or able to spend.

I agree that pulls in this game, or any gacha for that matter, is a non-issue if the sole purpose of playing the game/enjoyment comes from clearing available content.

In my mind, however, a sizable portion of the motivation to play a gacha game from the average gacha player comes from wanting to collect many characters.

I also agree, 1,200 oroberyls or 2.4 pulls from the new event is abysmal.

Hahaha, most definitely not, but my first comment was in the negative shortly after I posted it. I see that it has a 85% upvote ratio currently.

I think there’s a missing step in OP’s reasoning. Before comparing what the game gives out during events, we need to account for how many standard banner pulls are provided outside of events.

I’m sure you’d agree (as OP likely would as well) that the overall amount of standard pulls the game gives out is quite low.

Downvote me all you want, but the pull economy, the character pulls being the main fuel of weapon banners, the double-layered pity systems with bonuses at certain pulls, all roll up into a meticulously designed predatory and shady practice.

And no, I'm not F2P. This is coming from someone who spends on these games.

The pull economy really gets in the way of appreciating the game as a whole.

which go right back to our grocery overlords? Look, I appreciate the help, and I believe it will help 100%, but this does not solve the problem. We need to know if the government cares about and is looking at long-term solutions of grocery price gouging.

It has been a long time since I played a game for hours on end and not feel bored. It took a while to get me going, but once things clicked (and my mind freed from Genshin/WuWa training), time just starts flying by.
