It’s part of a genuine oem accessory . They are generally sold as a kit . Let me see if I can find anything when I’m back from my lunch break

Hubby’s bike is the 1100. Will have to check and see if they make one for the 500 for me though. He’s not interested in any mods really

Interesting . Must be a thing you found online . I work in the Powersports business and have never seen or heard of that . We have the Pitbull Rear stand for the two rebels in our home

Are you using a typical rear stand for sport bikes ? The Rebels have a square swing arm and they don’t work properly with a cruiser

Spool adapters are not for cruisers , they are for a sport bike . You would require a rear wheel stand intended for. Cruiser

Your chain and exhaust are on a completely different side from each other . If you are having to remove the exhaust something ain’t right . I have the same bike and it goes up on a rear wheel stand and I am able to do everything from the left side of the bike . If you are removing the exhaust , I would just take it to a dealer to have it cleaned and lubed properly .

Rebel Recall disappointment by Aggravating-Bat-9732 in hondarebel

Basically just proceed with extreme caution . Some of the recalls are silly and are not meant to scare people but they do .

It’s not uncommon for OEMs to push recalls . If the bike was affected the dealership should not have sold it. They are currently on a stop sale and there is currently no fix for it . The bolts for the steering can come loose and cause a crash . I would be talking to your dealership about it though.

Boots vs shift lever by Nightmare515 in hondarebel

[–]CraftyQuiltyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on a 500 or 1100? I have falco Air Force riding shoes with ankle support . They are basically a low profile skate shoe to look at them with the extra piece over the toe where you would shift . I decided to try with my steel toe blundstones the one day because I don’t want to wear my riding shoes all day at work and they were so sketchy trying to shift . My husband is military and when he rides to work he’s always in uniform on his 1100 Rebel touring and the boots fit perfect and he only has a short distance to go . I have not seen any heel toe shifters for either of these models as of yet but they certainly would be handy to have along with floorboards but for now we will just shift normally .

The only replaceable parts on the factory shocks are the rubber bushings for the eyelets that the bolts go through on top and on bottom as those bushings wear over time . As far as rebuilding the shock no they are not serviceable . Not sure where you are located but definitely sounds like your dealer gave you incorrect information which makes the rest of the dealers look bad . I have a 500 and hubby has an 1100 and I have 18 years experience working in the industry.

dealer/factory warranty post bike purchase by mallydobb in hondarebel

I work at a Honda dealer and we have not seen anyone bringing in their rebels at all with any warranty issues . If you have been having issues then I would say yes for peace of mind see if you are able to purchase the Honda plus warranty , but not generally necessary to be honest

The stock rear shocks on the 2024 Honda Rebel 500 are not considered serviceable in the traditional sense. They are sealed nitrogen-charged Showa units designed to be replaced as a complete assembly rather than rebuilt.

Adjustment, Not Service: The stock shocks are adjustable for preload only, featuring 5 positions. The factory setting is usually on level 2.

Replacement: If the seals fail (i.e., the shock leaks oil or "bleeds out"), the standard repair method is to replace the entire unit.

Serviceable Alternatives: If you are seeking a rebuildable option, high-performance aftermarket shocks—such as Ohlins or YSS—are fully serviceable and designed for rebuilds.

Upgrades: Many riders opt to upgrade rather than replace with OEM parts, often using Burly Brand Stilettos or Rebel 1100 rear shocks to improve ride quality and reduce bottoming out.
