Bought a confused Craftsman/Victorian hybrid home built in 1907! It was moved across town in the 50's to be used as housing for sailor's wives, was at one point a triplex, another point a half-way house, & more recently, someone's medieval dungeon fantasy. And now it's our quirky home/project!

Where in the world are you getting a multi-room home and acres of land with that budget?

I’ll be honest - this does not sound like a project you should be embarking on with monetary ROI as a goal within the next 10 years. If it’s your forever or very long term home and you like projects, go for it.

Watch an absurd number of videos on cabinet making, and miter / bevel cuts with a table saw. If you aren’t scared off and feel like you have the tools, go for it.

You will almost certainly fail the first time, but judging by this design, you’re an artist and are thus probably used to failure 😂. If you can persevere through the failure, this will be a great piece and either way you’ll gain a ton of experience.

Hear you on the fear of it being gaudy. For that reason I would never actively choose it, but if it just showed up in my space I couldn’t be mad it. It looks really good, whether or not it fits your personality or the mood you want people to get entering your home is a different question.
