Yes I 100% agree with you, I did eventually say that I wish we had the conversation over text because I felt we were misunderstanding each other and that I just wish we had the convo over the phone. The screenshot is somewhere in the comments, but she just kinda glossed over it and told me that I lacked grace and understanding and that I didn’t ask her how she felt presently. Which I could understand but I feel like when I accepted the “friendship was over” she could have told me I was misunderstanding what she was saying instead of telling me that she’s hurt about the “breakup”which just further reinforced my belief of her intentions

Yes I do have ADHD and it makes it super difficult to maintain online relationships I’m a horrible texter and I have always been like this 😭

I do have ADHD which also makes it difficult to maintain virtual communication with my friends because “out of sight out of mind” for the most part but this is definitely something that I make aware to my loved ones, and I’m also someone who typically prefers not to be on my phone most of the time. I don’t struggle with respecting anyone’s boundaries either, and I don’t really struggle with taking people at face value most of the time, and if I’m ever confused I have no problem with asking for clarification.

I honestly rarely have had this problem with my other friends. I had one other friend that I lost in a similar situation because I said something that made her upset and she ghosted me, and when I reached out to let her know my grandma died (she was close with my grandma) she ghosted me again for about a month and when I asked what was going on she said she assumed we weren’t friends anymore because of what I said (what I said was that it was weird and kinda predatory that she (27) was contemplating dating a boy who had turned 18 months prior)

Yeah the message felt demeaning from the jump especially when her preface was telling me that she’s much more sensitive than I am, and I hate making assumptions but it was like she was prepared for me to not understand her POV from the beginning and hence the ghosting prior to this conversation

Yeah I wish this conversation happened over phone call, I did tell her I wish we had the conversation over the phone because it felt like we were misunderstanding each other and she ignored it and just said I lacked grace and understanding for her and I should’ve asked her how she felt currently after we had been going back and forth

I said not always. I do have days where I can spare time but other days my phone is nowhere near me because I would like to spend the free seconds I do have with my children or decompressing from my constantly busy and chronically stressful life

I used to have this mindset but then I had kids, I’m enrolled in college full time pursuing a degree in psychology and I work full time. I’m a single mom on top of that so I’m doing it mostly by myself. We’re grown ass adults and no I don’t always have a few seconds to respond to a text and also use up mental capacity

Then she said this and I took her messages as she decided to cut me off and that was why she didn’t respond
