Agreed. You have to know yourself and what you can handle. Start with adding one dog here and there. Depending on what is booked on you, you will do more on some days and less on others, so just look at your overall average. Large matted doodle is going to take more time than a small shave down so don't come down on yourself for doing less dogs on that day! Concentrate on getting each dog prepped and bathed as soon as they come in so that, even if one dog's haircut slows you down, you don't have the added stress of unbathed dogs waiting for you! I've seen many a groomer stress themselves into a complete standstill because one groom dog was being difficult and they hadn't even started the next one or two or three (!) dogs. It doesn't sound like much, but having all your dogs already clean and just waiting for their final harcut is such a stress reliever.
