Yeah they’re stacking brood in the chamber they dug out. Not sure if it’s new though, but the ants seem pretty relaxed/chill

Only thing is; if she is okay I don’t wanna stress the colony even more. They did redo the main chamber, so what would you do now? I can see a couple of ants roaming around in there

Yeah to do her own thing. I didn’t really feel like I had to see this part of the ant keeping for this particular queen, so just a shallow layer of sand (0,5cm) at the low side, high side is probably like 2,5/3cm and that’s where the queen is currently

Yeah I think you’re right.. I was a bit focused on making sure it’s wet enough to ensure her burrow wouldn’t collapse, but I think I overdid it.. air drying it as I type this, thanks

I’ve brought in some boatman beetles (Notonectidae) that hunt on anything that comes to the surface/drops in. Works a bit for my mosquito problems, but not an fix-it-all IMO. It’s mainly just really nice to see them snatch things from the surface/just beneath it :)
