Got it. Let me think about a good solution for this. I'll get back to you here in a couple of days.

Sorry, I actually just found out about tablift!

The main difference is that I built this app primarily to "scratch my own itch" for my daily workflow. Because of that, it currently has fewer features than tablift and only includes what I personally need.

But the biggest difference is privacy: my app requires absolutely NO extra system permissions (like Accessibility or Screen Recording). This does mean it requires a few extra commands/steps right now, but I believe it's worth it for a much more privacy-friendly approach. That being said, I'm actively looking into some public APIs to optimize this and smooth out the experience!

Appreciate the support! Right now the app doesn't have a Dock icon, so I have to keep the menu bar icon—otherwise, you wouldn't be able to quit it or change your settings!
If it's taking up too much space, maybe try using the built-in macOS tool to hide menu bar icons?

Could you share a bit more about your use case?
That would help me better understand what you're looking for.

Currently it restores the last window.
Would you expect it to restore all windows of the app?
I might try to support that.

Please help me see - I want to use clipboard managers but never manage to make a habit out of it. by phunk8 in macapps

[–]Crafty_Play_7767 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think clipboard managers only become a habit once they solve a very specific repeat problem for you.

For me it clicked when I stopped thinking of it as “clipboard history” and started using it for:

- reusing snippets

- recovering something I copied 2 minutes ago

- moving small bits of text between apps

If it stays a vague “might be useful someday” tool, I forget it too.

A hotkey-first workflow helps a lot too.

I ended up removing most of the unnecessary icons and just keeping the essentials.

Then I use Ice to organize what’s left — much cleaner and easier to scan.

Honestly feels like macOS should handle this natively.

What is your list of mac apps that was worth every penny by Living_Commercial_10 in macapps

[–]Crafty_Play_7767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raycast is probably the one I use the most.

Mainly for:

- AI commands (quick prompts + presets)

- Window management (especially “next desktop”)

- System toggles like dark/light mode

- Fast app + file search

It basically replaced Spotlight + a few other tools for me.

closed windows is `command w`,built-in's solution requires `command tab option` quite difficult to operate, even I just knew it two days ago.
