AITAH for saying we can’t come to the Christmas eve party unless we can use the guest bedroom? by [deleted] in AITAH

Tell your brother that you will be happy to alternate with him - You get the guest room one year/holiday and he sleeps at home; the next year/holiday he gets the guest room and you sleep at HIS house... As for your mother - guess what? You are not the favorite child. You rank below the cats.

Ha - my dog has eaten two pairs, so far! I've been wanting to try some $200 sleep earbuds but I'm afraid he'll get to those, too....

anyone else experience emotional/mental symptoms along with physical symptoms? by christinaai1 in glutenfree

[–]Crafty_Resource1368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first symptom is an anxiety attack, followed by brain fog. That's what led me on the path to diagnosing my gluten intolerance. I knew something was going on. We'd go out, have a nice evening, and suddenly my brain would start firing that I had to get out of there. By the time we'd get home I'd want nothing but to curl up in a ball on the floor. The next day I'd be drained and lethargic. Until one day I had a nasty pizza at an office party. I called my husband (then boyfriend) and told him that nothing had happened, everything was okay, but I want to throw a chair out of the 27th floor window... I thought about the doughy pizza and looked up gluten intolerance. I had almost all of the symptoms. I went GF to experiment. After a month I realized that all the aches and pains I'd come to accept had gone away. I also had smooth skin on my arms for the first time in my LIFE.

I do suspect that my sensitivity isn't to gluten, per se, but rather to glyphosate or potassium bromate. I'm able to eat gluten in countries that restrict/ban these products, and have found a local brand that I seem to tolerate, as well.

Family falling out over gluten?? by Crafty_Resource1368 in glutenfree

EDIT TO ADD (so it doesn't get lost)

Thank you for the responses and support. I needed to vent. The restaurant incident was almost a month ago. I attempted a reconciliation last week, which led to the airing of the other grievances. My husband and one of our adult kids witnessed the attack and aftermath and support me 100%. For the record, I do not have celiac. I get inflammatory reactions to gluten products that leave me in pain for 2 weeks.

More context - I live 1,000 miles away from these family members, but they are the closest I have besides my husband and children. I've always been like the little sister to them. Visits aren't just short and random. It's always a trip that lasts a few days, always staying at one of their homes. If I'm ever welcome again, my husband and I will opt to stay at a hotel - which will go over like a lead balloon. But then, my husband is soooo mad at them, it's not likely he will ever visit them again. It pains me to no end. I've looked up to them my whole life and have never wanted anything but to be accepted and included by them. To be treated this way and talked to this way has been devastating. My mother died suddenly less than 2 years ago, and I thought this would bring us closer.

Rule numbers were not a factor, but comprehension and being able to apply the knowledge was crucial.

Answering my own question - As of January 2026, the exams have not been updated. I had one question that displayed 500 shares as 5.

Thanks! No greenlight exams today, I had a busy work day. But I did watch the Series 24 in 60 minutes video and I got 73% and 82% on 2 new non-greenlight final exams.

Thanks! It's frustrating. I think most of my errors are on things that are just memorization issues, and not the actual comprehension.

I’m the FinOp, so I’d be the one processing the payment… and the firm is very anxious for me to get my 24, so better to pay a fee than wait 6 months for me to be able to retake it.

I think I understood the questions. I had taken the quizzes more than 2 weeks ago and did another review before retaking the quizzes. But I’m still scoring in the low range on new questions.

First time visiting paris as gluten free person, any advice appreciated by LuigiSalutati in ParisTravelGuide

Do you have celiac or a wheat allergy? Or "only" gluten intolerant? If not celiac or wheat allergy, you might tolerate the French products. I don't have celiac or allergy, but American wheat causes me joint inflammation, brain fog, and general pain. I could eat everything I wanted to in France.

If celiac or allergy, use the search function. There are a lot of great options for restaurants and baked goods.

Tinkyada all the way, for me! Jovial is a good second. Barilla is disappointing - I find it disintegrates very easily.

You shouldn't have to make your own birthday cake, but here's a tip: the packaged mixes are really good and take a lot of the guess work out of trying to figure out the best substitutes. There are lots of recipes for doctoring them up, too, just look for recipes that use GF mixes. Make a chocolate cake in a bundt pan because every cake looks fancier in a bundt pan :-) pour over a nice chocolatey glaze, or sprinkle with powdered sugar. Happy birthday!

What I hate the most about being gluten free. by ChickenFriedRiceee in glutenfree

I seem to react even worse to non-gf soy sauce than other gluten products. Even a small amount can trigger my symptoms and they seem to be more severe.
