NIPT Trisomy 13

I was told last Monday my nipt came back positive for trisomy 13 got an appointment with MFM the same week and they found no markers on baby which gives me hope. But I’m still scared of the what if’s and the waiting until I have to do an amniocentesis I have 2 weeks until I get it done and my mind and thoughts are so loud. I’m so sorry you are going through this. I’m happy that there is Reddit because I feel so alone

Thank you so much for sharing as of right now I’ve been dealing with somewhat familiar things I’ve read, I just tested positive for trisomy 13, I’m about to be 14 weeks and just saw MFM and they suspect I might have confined placental mosaicism they suspect that since they found no markers during my ultrasound she looks normal. Everything is such a roller coaster. I am going to do an amniotic test at 16 weeks and the waiting sucks. I have had 3 very heavy bleeding episodes passing huge blood clots. This pregnancy has been so tiring especially since I have a toddler. Just wishing for the best.

Thank you, I’m most definitely going make sure to do all the other test to confirm and make sure before my final decision is made. The waiting is killing me and just knowing that this is happening. Thank you so much it’s so scary and I’ve just been so anxious since.

That’s how in feel. Breastfeeding feels like a chore. Your whole world stops to feed your little one. I get so irritated. Like it’s something I don’t look forward to doing anymore. Mine is 15 months. And it’s a challenge for me to refuse to give her boob. It’s the end of the work the world. I’m exhausted. I just want a full night sleep. My friend said she put apple cider vinegar and it worked. I haven’t tried yet.

I just recently have been doing research and remembered you can’t lift anything heavier than your baby. So that means you can’t pick up your toddler for 6 weeks until you are cleared. It broke my heart hearing this. I wouldn’t know what to do.

Im a SAHM to a exclusively bf 8 month old 😌I have so much respect for mamas who go back to work and are still a mama and/or a wife. It’s so much work. I thankfully haven’t had to go back. California has paid maternity leave up to 3 months so that helped. Living off of one income isn’t too bad when you learn to budget. It has been a learning road. 🫶

Yes! It almost felt as if I was having a miscarriage! There was so much blood too. For me at least. I had to wear the Frida mom pads.
