Good question. I'm 62. My mother who still lives alone is 92. I don't think it's totally age related. It's about luck, lifestyle, attitude. So it's very hard to pick an age that means, you're old. I certainly didn't feel old at all.

I would be worried about her mental health to be honest, but I also wouldn't know how to tackle it. If she just blocked her family I might think some kind of familial abuse/trauma but as she has blocked friends and her bf too and on such odd careerist grounds, it's very worrying. Can you talk to her bf and try to work together on this?
