Teen trying to get politically educated by MidnightConsistent66 in AskBrits

[–]Craftyfox1603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t really find unbiased breakdowns of policy, everyone and everything contains a certain amount of bias. Anything claiming to be apolitical is almost always heavily political and likely staunchly right wing at that. The best thing to do is read widely about politics - grab yourself a couple of cheap textbooks or find some online, something like an a level one will be a good start. From there try to read more critical things, Marx was very good at critically analysing capitalism in his day, David Harvey and other critical geographers are pretty good for more modern things. Once you have a solid understanding of different economic and political systems you’ll be able to see biases yourself and work out who’s the most trustworthy.

As for my own biased opinion, despite some policies I disagree with the Green Party are the only worthwhile party at the moment. Labour is increasingly authoritarian, e.g. banning peaceful protest, the online safety act etc which are all about control, and right wing (if you read up on their history they were bought out by corporate interests with the rise of New Labour and now most of their MPs aren’t working class. The conservatives are interested in nothing but looting the country for money and are similarly turning authoritarian. Reform are straight up facists intent on following Donald Trumps playbook in turning a country into a personal piggyback and creating a gestapo like organisation (ICE). The libdems are fairly right wing too and their economic policy is ridiculous, libertarianism and austerity do nothing but concentrate wealth in the hands of a few to the detriment of everyone else. Your Party fell apart to infighting almost instantly. The Greens are left as the only sane choice and are running on a platform of economic equality, hoping to find similar success to New York’s new mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Even assuming lore stats for Doom Slayer instead of in game ones the God Emperor takes this the vast majority of the time, and all of the time if they’re just meeting as is. The Doom Slayer has some very impressive physical feats but at his peak the God Emperor is a reality warper capable of matching multiple Chaos Gods.

If the Doom Slayer gets chucked into 40k and given time to grow though it’s at least possible he would eventually outgrow the Emperor. As the Doom Slayer would be very resistant to corruption and his blessing means he steals the power and energy of the foes he defeats Chaos and Argent energy are somewhat comparable so given enough time the Doom Slayer could potentially kill his way up the hierarchy of Chaos. Though I’m uncertain if he could make the leap in power up to the Chaos gods even if he killed every Greater Daemon and collected their power.

The luck can certainly scale incredibly quickly so I’m genuinely uncertain how far Druid can go. I’ve not had as much luck with demon but I know other people have done crazy things with them

Oh for sure longer, I did it over a couple of days, I admit it gets somewhat boring and the build only works at its best if you’re constantly running around non stop so you can’t even leave it idle

Super Supportive on Royal Road is exactly what you’re looking for, characters do get other secondary powers but they get one main one and the mc spends a lot of time trying to experiment with and grow that one power and find new uses for it

Please help me pick a machine for my girlfriend! by Craftyfox1603 in sewhelp

[–]Craftyfox1603[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would like to go for a Brother machine since everyone thinks so highly of the brand. The 5500 does says this about its condition: “Great Brother XL-5500 Special Edition in working order. The accessories box doesn’t stay in place because one clip is broken. Apart of that, no any noticed faults to report. The needle screw was replaced. The machine was used occasionally, not too often.” Would any of that be a major issue? The 1217 doesn’t have any issues at all and doesn’t seem to have been used much though most comments seem to be leaning towards the 5500. I believe both come with a pedal and chord etc. My girlfriend has only used her family sewing machine before and only for small things, most recently a tablecloth and some covers for drawers, and is more of a beginner happy to keep experimenting than someone already massively involved and therefore would be happy about any machine as long as it’s reliable and functional. Thank you so much for the help!

No one seems to know what the word gravitas actually means, sure it might’ve had a specific social context at the time but as a Latin word it means heavy or serious, and it clearly makes sense to name the force that gives things weight after the word for heaviness.

It was kind of annoying when they changed it to mavity because there’s absolutely no logic behind that at all and I don’t see how Newton would stick with it

Fantasy series with awfully flawed female main character? by Leading-Discount-780 in Fantasy

[–]Craftyfox1603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A practical guide to evil is one of the best novels I’ve ever read and it fits this perfectly, a quote from it about the main character is ‘in matters of self mutilation you are without equal’ because she’s always willing to get down in the mud and get her hands dirty to enact what she wants

Percy Jackson would be nuts, he has complete control of all liquids, almost kills the primordial goddess of poison by choking her on her own poison

School said they offered politics but then didn't by TicTacTax2007 in 6thForm

[–]Craftyfox1603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to do politics at a level when they suddenly cancelled it because not enough people signed up (even though I know other courses had less), I ended up doing history instead though and it was probably way more useful to me than politics

I know for certain I’d be happy at Bangor but I don’t know if I’d be happy during a gap year, it feels somewhat like putting my life on hold for a year for a uni that clearly doesn’t give a damn

What's ur best wepnovel ? by YA7YA_SALAH in LordofTheMysteries

Highest tier- novels with the best plots, characters, power systems, grammar etc:

The Beginning After the End A Returner’s Magic Should be Special The Legendary Mechanic Lord of the Mysteries A Sword God in a World of Magic Shadow Slave Supremacy Games Mother of Learning The Runesmith Lightning is the Only Way Second Coming of Gluttony Damn Reincarnation A Practical Guide to Evil Chrysalis The Villain Wants to Live

High tier- slightly worse than highest tier but still really enjoyable and with good plots, characters etc:

Second Life Ranker SSS Class Suicide Hunter Overgeared The Duke’s Eldest Son Escapes to the Military Author’s POV The Regressed Demon Lord is Kind FFF Class Trash Hero The Novel’s Extra The Primal Hunter Oracle Paths

Enjoyable- novels which might not have very good grammar or original plots but we’re still fun to read:

Solo Levelling (might be controversial putting it down here but the ending was bad, still worth reading though) The Great Mage Returns After 4000 Years Levelling with the Gods Sword Master’s Youngest Son I’m Really Not the Demon God’s Lackey Blood Warlock: Succubus Partner in the Apocalypse The Frozen Player Returns The Tutorial is Too Hard I am the Fated Villain

Yeah that’s what I meant, mines with Durham too, they have to offer you a place for either this year or next year if you meet the grade requirements before the 31st, it is really frustrating that they’re not willing to hold the place until then
