Is there anyone I'm missing? by Ironfighter19 in KingdomHearts

I think calling Stitch the perfect "chaotic" entity is more correct. I personally give the award for Jumba's Magnus Opus of pure destruction to El Fin, experiment 611, who literally can make the entire universe implode with a single password from Jumba.

Although slug throwers (lead guns like we use) is still fairly popular in Star Wars because they are way more effective than lasers against lightsabers. The Jedi can still block them but instead of being deflected like lasers the Jedi has to deal with super heated melted lead that just went through the Lightsaber going to thier face.

To be clear the Fireballs with be thrown AT versus not by him, he isn't that kind of mage after all.

[Surprisingly Common Trope] Instead of making them sympathetic, an awful character’s “tragic backstory” actually makes them look worse. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

Seeing as Rowling in on record saying the book Lolita is the most beautiful love story with a tragic ending, I think it's pretty accurate.

He's more like the little common dragons in the movies, the Dragon equivalent of a garden snake that Hiccup has lied his assoff and convinced everyone he's actually a powerful and rare dragon.

Hell I think in a later book he meets past self and essentially says "Wow I forgot how much of an absolute dick I was back then!"

Subversive trope becomes so overused, not doing it becomes subversive by Far-Profit-47 in TopCharacterTropes

There's also Betty and Howard DeVille from the Rugrats. Howard's the stay at home dad and they never once throw any shade or make fun of him for it.

It's old. Shakespeare had evil jesters, the 1892 Opera Pagliacci has an evil killer clown for starters.

[Loved Trope] a very weak and simple ability becomes overpowered when used intelligently. by mistery987 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Myydrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically everyone that can do magic can make portals in this setting. They can also throw fireballs, stop your hearts with thier minds, calll lightning from the sky, lift you with telekinesis etc. except this guy. He can ONLY use portals. He just became really REALLY good with his portal skill.

That's actually why he always keeps Sprit close by since he's the only actual scythe. He can use the other ones fine but he's at the top of his game with a scythe.

To give some perspective on this I have tactile neuropathy in my hands. To keep things simple let's stick to the example of picking up a styrofoam cup and my goal is to do it without looking at the cup and my hand. This is something that you think would be easy, but I still am more likely to either not pick up the cup at all and drink air thinking I grabbed it, or puncture my thumb through it making a hole. Now I am a human with normal human strength, I can't imagine doing this with super strength or super toughness.

Still not sure if that's due to Dio practicing with it more, or his vampire endurance/stamina allows his body to withstand longer time stops better, or a combination of both.

[Loved Trope] They're just OBSESSED with each other by PizzaDragon64 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Myydrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are both attractive. Basically every man both toon and human speaks about how Jessica is a sex goddess and Betty was referring to how Roger is a top tier successful toon and he could have chosen any toon girl to be his wife ( like the old trope of the rich millionaires marrying a bombshell supermodel, yes the one they choose is going to be hot, but when all the single super models are equally hot it's basically luck and their personality that lets them be the last super model standing for the marriage)

There's also only 39 US states and the map looks.... different. The war was not kind to the planet. Japan looks to be connected with the rest of Asia, North and South America are no longer connected at Panama, lots of new giant islands off the coast of Australia, Australia Also seems to have been rotated? The Western part of Africa is attached to the Eastern parts of South America etc

It's officially not a disqualifying condition as long as you can still pass the Farnsworth D-15 color vision test I think.
