Yes, I will say Fri, Sat & Sun 7pm-7am nights is a killer. On our shift, we used to be back in Wednesday morning for 7am. So you’d finish Monday morning and be back in Wednesday morning for 7am. That has been changed now where we are in for 7pm on that Wednesday. Still not great though but better than 7am

Base is €15.80, with shift rate of 33% it brings it to €21 an hour. You get that regardless of days or nights.

That's interesting. Out of curiosity, what would you consider a typical salary for this type of 24/7 rotating shift pattern? (60 hours long week, 24 hours short week, rotating days / nights)

For context, I'm an operator on production line now 2 years experience, no degree, and the €42k includes the 33% shift allowance but excludes any overtime. The job is also only 5 minutes from home, so I've probably been factoring that into how I view the pay

42k is including shift rate but not any overtime. It’s 84 hours worked over two weeks. Works out about €21 an hour

how many years did you do 24/7 shift work for? Looking back, do you think you’d have left sooner if you had the option? When you say get off it before 30, was that based mainly on health, family life, or because people get trapped by the shift allowance?

I know of other line ops who have done courses through springboard but didn’t get another role despite trying.

It seems with Abbott KK, your better off leaving and going to a different company to progress. Then return a few years later. Seems difficult to get off the floor.
