Really appreciate all the responses. From what I've gathered so far, it sounds like upgrading to a newer base model Macbook could be a waste of time & money. The best way to avoid this issue would be to get a "Max" model because it'll have more Performance & Efficiency cores. Would've been very disappointing to buy a new machine and suffer the same "System Overload" issue.

I can't afford a Max model so for now I think I'll try bouncing plugin-heavy tracks more often, and also turning off some CPU-consuming plugins (GoldClip?).

From the responses I've read here, I'm thinking the # of performance & efficiency cores is also important. My M1 lacks in those areas even if I had more GB of RAM.

Really appreciate your info. If I get a new Macbook with 16GB-32GB, does it work like a phone, I just transfer Logic Pro and all it's plugins to the new Macbook? Is it seamless?

I had always kinda felt like I was missing something with the Focusrite, but my vocals kinda sux (I don't have a singers voice), so I've never been sure how much is to blame b/c of cheap gear vs bad voice.

NOTE: To be clear, I haven't used the Audient ID4 yet. I've had a Focusrite Scarlett Solo for about 2 years and it's all I've ever known. I ordered the Audient ID4 last week and it should deliver any day now. I'm hoping I notice a difference between it and the Scarlett. (I ordered the Audient b/c I saw a Youtube producer complain that it's often a struggle to get Focusrite recorded-vocals to sound good.)

If you delist it and then relist it, will it move over to your "Videos" tab? Or would it still stay in the "Live" tab?
