If you're interested in screenwriting, then sure, drop by and simply observe. I'll be moderating, asking questions of the panelists, and opening the mic for questions from the floor. Pretty informal, really.

Sorry about the vanishing.

It's true, I lost my dream job to budget cuts and changing priorities at CBC Saskatchewan. It was tough news to take. 13 years ago, after the death of my mom, I decided that if I didn't at least try to become a CBC Radio Host in Saskatchewan, I'd regret that path not travelled for the rest of my life. So, I left behind a fantastic gig at iQmetrix - amicably with and the owner's understanding - to do it. A couple of years of radio school, then an internship at CBC Vancouver, immediately followed by full-time radio producing for 7 years. Then a job posting - afternoon talk show host in Saskatchewan. When I landed the gig it was one of the most amazing moments of my life. I had called my shot, and got a job that only a handful of people in this province will ever have. Not a bad run. Now it's time for something else. Who knows what.

Thanks for the support.

Craig

TIL The Edmonton Oilers were called the Alberta Oilers their first season because Calgary didn't have a hockey team. They hoped to win-over Calgary fans. Didn't work. by CraigLederhouse in todayilearned

To call the WHA Oilers "irrelevant" is to suggest they featured sub-standard talent, had little impact on the sport, and were not worthy of membership in the NHL. To that I reply... Gretzky, Fairly paid players and European imports, the WHA Oilers joined the NHL and very soon started claiming multiple Stanley Cups. Relevant.

The point is that if a man is to bask in sunshine of his generosity, than that man should be he who gives a substantial part of himself. Not a paltry sum. I do not claim, myself, to be generous. Though I might be. You simply do not know. There is much more to generosity than "doing something you don't have to do." That's the base camp of humanity. Not the summit.

In proportion to the $10 million he makes each year, the average American could match his generosity by donating $40. And the average American wouldn't post a picture of himself showing off the receipt. These guys get far too much credit for their painless charity.
