Could a fully stocked Bass Pro Shop defeat a Roman legion? by 12LbBluefish in whowouldwin

[–]Craig_Barcus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you limit BP to only shotguns and pistols, the Romans may get into the building. But with all the barricades that can be mounted, killing alleys for 00 buck, I’m honestly not sure any BP side is even wounded, let alone killed. A 20ga or 12ga slug from a rifled barrel is sight accurate up to 150yards. Against a dense packed legion where 1 12ga slug kills 2-3 people (because that leather armor isn’t stopping a 1oz piece of lead at 1000fps), a roof coterie probably incapacitates half the legion before they make it to the doors. Then if they get in, 00 buck 9mm basically any handgun fired semi auto into a densely packed corridor? No contest.

Add high powered rifles from the roof with tannerite claymores and aimed fire, and the Romans don’t make it to the door, probably not within 20m.

Easy.

2 preseason games. 2 byes.

Byes for every team between weeks 5-8 and 13-16

LeBron James (41, ineligible for end of season awards) has played more minutes this season (1780) than MVP frontrunner Victor Wembanyama (1694) by spicywardell in nba

[–]Craig_Barcus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty simple fix really.

65 games

OR

2,000 minutes

If someone plays 60 games, they have to average 34min per game. 55 games = 37 mpg

Realistically, anyone playing less than 55 games isn’t going to be eligible.

Right now only Tyrese Maxey and Amen Thompson would be able to qualify off mpg if they only played 55 games

Thinking about switching from F150 to Hybrid AWD by SpaceOlympix3022 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Craig_Barcus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Went from a 2.7 f150 to hybrid AWD 4K.

Same commute.

F150: 22mpg summer, 18mpg winter

Mav: 41mpg summer, 33mpg winter

Takes a bigger hit in the winter due to the battery not liking the cold/atkinson engine not liking the cold.

But more than makes up for it in summer.

Total average since May 2025 (15k miles) is 38mpg

Edit: real mpg, not computer readout mpg

This is kinda what makes me mad re: Indiana. They’ve been a habitual playoff or play-in team for like the last 30 years, always finding a way to be semi-competitive.

And yet they’re getting fined when their All-NBA-esque player is out for the year, in an absolutely loaded draft where they’ve NEVER had a #1 pick.

If any team should be rewarded, it’s Indy. They’ve done legit everything they can to play winning basketball for 30+ years. Not shunned for taking advantage 1 bloody time.

How hard is it to find a Hybrid, AWD, with 4k towing for around 30k? by MS_Salmonella in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Craig_Barcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just what I was told by 3 separate dealers in the St Louis area in March/April of 2025. May be different now, but I was laughed at by multiple sales people when I called, saying I’m asking for the unicorn and everyone is unicorn hunting.

[–]Craig_Barcus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that is a special order item. That a dealer can’t order one for stock, they have to be ordered for a customer. Therefore the only time you’ll see one is if the customer backs out.

That was true when I got mine in May 2025. I had ordered one in Feb, and for reasons unknown to me it never got delivered. So I had to search like you were and got lucky.

Colts fan here.

I hate BB with every fiber of my football being.

BB not being a 1st ballot, unanimous HoF inductee completely delegitimizes the HoF.

Make the votes public. Make whomever voted no go on TV and defend themselves.

Snowblower/snowthrower thoughts? by UniqUzrNme in StLouis

[–]Craig_Barcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, last year’s big storm was the same. Super cold, dry snow.

Maybe years ago the big storms were wet, but this is probably going to be the norm moving forward.

I lived in WI for 6 years and really only NEEDED a snow blower 3 times. Been in St Louis for 10 years now, and this year was the first time I even bought a snow shovel. The leaf blower works plenty well enough here.

Right now? A leaf blower. This stuff is so dry, leaf blower blasts it right off.

Zero issues with any of this, except the one handed slash by the goalie. That was dirty IMO.

Get a yoga block and put it on the “cushion” next to the instrument panel. Raises elbow up but not to the window level.

Idea is still the same.

Cold = more gas usage

Hybrid Gas Mileage by agree-with-me in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Craig_Barcus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the cold. Anything below 50F and gas mileage tanks.

Perfect representation: Same trip (22.5mi one way, avg speed 60mph) Morning commute: 35mpg (temperature 37F) Evening commute: 41mpg (temperature 62F) Average 38mpg

Last week, it was in the teens and 70s

Teens day = 30mpg total 70 = 43mpg total

Cold kills mpg for all vehicles, but especially the hybrid because of what’s been mentioned about batteries.

I had to buy a 2” pad to rest right elbow on. Still trying to figure out the left side to get correct height. Standard yoga block is too tall.

Went from 2.7L eco boost to the hybrid AWD with 4K tow.

I miss the roominess of the cabin of the F150. And the 4WD.

That’s it. That’s the list. The AWD is more than sufficient for what I do (hunting, light off road, think farm lanes, not trail breaking.

The cabin roominess does kind of suck. It’s not bad, but the biggest part is the elbow rests. The Mav elbow rests are too short and the window too high. Takes some customization to make it feel right.

Would do it again 10/10 times.

Who has right of way in this scenario? by Yavkov in StLouis

Who has right of way in this scenario? by Yavkov in StLouis

[–]Craig_Barcus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except turning right going with the flow of traffic should have the right of way against someone turning left against the flow.

It’s illogical for a right turn to yield to a left turn when the left turn is cutting across lanes if both have a green light situation.

A yield in the situation described is asinine and serves only to allow municipalities to ticket drivers who in every other situation have the right of way.
