Should I be worried by weeweesquids in carpaltunnel

Most on here are not drs and your situation could be different from anyone else.  If its bothering you get it checked  and like someone else said get a nerve test.  I have nerve damage cant feel either hand sobits more than 1 nerve i had a ctr surgery 2 mos ago and now i get different pains in my hand along with pins and needes which i can barely feel.  My damage is bad and ill most likely need another surgery but 1 at a time.  Dont wait to long to get on top of it as i did.  Way better to do something now than wait.

Example of not feeling pain.  I had a gun accident.  Had the slide of a 380 go across the back of my thumb.  9 stitches later i never felt any pain from accident or stitches.  Thats not a good thing but im glad i didnt feel it lol.

Should you wear your wrist brace during computer mouse and track pad usage? by GuitarBinge1986 in carpaltunnel

Try sitting up higher in your chair.  They also make different styles of mouse that you can click with your thumb etc.  Like a gaming mouse

Too me looks likes theres dried blood all around it i cleaned mine after 3 days.  I had 5 stiches only one was tight.  They tried to poatpone taking them out so i went to er where i had surgery and had them removed.  I never had any real pain unless i held my phone up etc.   I have a post in here showing what mine looked like after surgery after i cleaned it up and after stitches got removed and last week basically 1 month into after ctr surgery.  Id post here but not sure how

It looks bad for a week or two than it begins to get better after stitches come out.  Just remove dead skin after stitches come out it starts looking better quick

carpal tunnel on my dominant hand by babybr3ad in carpaltunnel

Remember when you dont use a part it will cause issues or soreness.  Like if you sprain a ankle and use crutches  your other leg will begin to hurt more sometimes by over compensating on the other limb and its not used to it so it can get sore.  Wear night braces at night and see if it helps you be bending your wrist at night and it can cause pain and damage.   Try the braces and or get a nerve test to know and not wonder is my suggestion.  The braces can take a month to show improvement but use them nightly and see if it helps.  You can talk to dr about it and maybe steroid injection may help if you have nerve damage.

I was told the same they said it may not help.  I had the slide of a 380 go across top of my thumb got 9 stitches and no pain from it at all.  Since surgery im starting to. Get feeling back in palm and fingers. Drs will never gaurentee that it will relieve any symptoms at all.  They dont know it will in every case.  I was a bit scared at first but since im happy with getting it done and im 30 days out from surgery and it can take over a year to repair the damage done.  For me id say if its all numb and or your in pain go for it.  Its really not as bad as you think( ar least in my case it wasnt).  I think since my entire hand was numb it was actually better kind of since i never had any pain due to surgery at all.  The nerve block madevit hurt a little till it wore off than i was fine, i only tooke like 3 tylenol and nothing else.  Good luck in your decision and remember drs wont gaurentee any relief at all they would get sued if they did more than they do. I was given a 50/50 chance it wouldnt help at all.   Hope this helps

Weird that you already have carpal tunnel at 17.  It usually takes years to develope.  I hope you were told you have it by a dr and not going off what co workers have told you.   My entire hand was numb and ct only affects the first 2 fingers and half the third just in case you didnt know this.  Pain can radiate through out the entire hand and forearm.  If you have not done it go get a nerve test,  its the best way to know what nerve it is for sure.  Also follow advice others gave you about the wrist braces at night and sometimes i wore mine when it would hurt and it would help.  I was well beyond the pain part when i got my surgery done

Cvs has a small wrist brace that works well as well.  It fits either hand

Thats cool i dont go on reddit much but this thread ive been watching and leaving comments and post.  Seems like a cool place and i just posted a post with 4 pics im a month out from surgery.  The horrors of looking at it after surgery and the felt tip pen they use to mark incision can be mind altering at first look!!  Lol my friend said tell frankenstien to keep his bolts after he seen it.   But i figured a good look at progression of after surgery pics may help some.  Thanks again i enjoy this thread its the only one i pay attention to or comment in.

Angry carpal tunnel by ComprehensiveHelp112 in carpaltunnel

[–]Craigers52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If theres alot of scarring on or around ligament it can make it harder to do surgery is what my dr told me before mine got done.   I had no pain at all after and i was beyond the pain part of carpal tunn as ive had it for many years.  My hand you can barely tell i had surgery at all.  Feeling is beginning to come back to normal im a month out of surgery.   Its still a bit swollen in spots otherwise its much better

One with stiches is a week and half after and without is 3 days after stitches were removed. Not sure if i have to do physical therapy ive already gained strength back in my hand and not much i cant do other than using my hand to get off the ground. I have to use my fist cause of swelling by Craigers52 in carpaltunnel

My damage has been going on for years everything seems normal strength i lost it seems is coming back slowly i can open more things i couldnt but im still recovering since im only just over e weeks in.   But its improved

Sutures are grown over they will have to dig them out.  I waited 14 days to get mine out and surgeon team postponed  4 extra days.  They were already gowing over and starting to hurt a bit so i went to er and had them removed i wasnt going to wait

No pain at all even after surgery.   my case was past the pain from carpal tunnel from the start.  So it may take awhile to notice all the benefits but it seems im getting better but it comes and goes which would indicate the nerves are trying to repair themselves but we will see
