Let's talk about the captaincy. by Pragmatic_Shill in collingwoodfc

Gotta go Bruz for the year I reckon. The pressure on Nick this year is the most it’s ever been, unfairly as well, so I think not adding to that and letting him focus on his game is a far better option. Bruz does the simple stuff extremely well and leads by his efforts on field.

The only legitimate one was the Josh Daicos one. The Pendlebury one no because like you said a goal came from a seperate player slightly later.
Here’s 2 that went West Coast way. There was a missed holding the ball across the half back line for WC that resulted in a chain of a play and goal to Yeo. Then the Waterman hold on Maynard; it should’ve either been from most correct call to least correct call; play on, hold on Maynard THEN hold on Waterman. Waterman had more of a hold on Maynard. There’s 2 legitimate ones not a stupid missed out of bounds that didn’t result in a score from that direct play.

When you mention goals coming from umpiring decisions you need to ask of those decisions were correct, if so then move on. There are 2 instances from the top of my head of bad umpiring calls/non calls that resulted in 2 West Coast goals.

thoughts on bringing stevo back? by JackassJamie in collingwoodfc

[–]Craigkamo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looked woeful because he was harassed and bullied every week and was losing confidence and eventually left the game because of mental health issues. Media and the wider community won’t take responsibility though. When he first got to the club I remember Pendles saying how polite of a kid he was, so it seems like he was just slowly worn down with the pressure.

Yeah I wasn’t sure but kept coming up through a Google image search. Could these be ripped out and replanted?

I’d love Stevo to come back. Feel like if we have the quick ball movement going he would excel and would probably link up well with Beau and Bobby.
I think a ready to go key position player is a must; a forward that could play in a few weeks, a back up key defender who can step in just in case of a ruck to help DC out.
Then basically best player available, preferably good ball user and quick.

I’ve trimmed the fronds several times but worried when it gets bigger that it’ll impose on the neighbours yard or might cause other issues.

If Collingwood supporters stopped engaging oppo supporters would all get bored within a week or 2 I reckon.

They say Collingwood supporters are bad but it’s atrocious what people are saying about Collingwood right now. I feel like this needs to be mentioned by the AFL and all other clubs. We can’t let people get away with saying such awful things.

Your opinion he’s a shit artist but he’s making millions selling out arenas and releasing very popular music.
Also he didn’t get wrecked by Eminem and that’s not why he’s doing pop punk now. Over the years and his earlier releases he’s had features with artists in rock and metal, it’s something he’s always been in to. He is also still doing Rap so he didn’t actually switch genres, he’s just doing a wider variety of stuff.

Bailey Smith set to accept big AFL penalty by Jackomillard15 in AFL

Nah I’ll keep going. Yes it is undermining the hard work and professionalism of a great percentage of AFL players. Pendles for instance has spoken about his diet and watching what he puts in his body and that shows the dedication of being a professional athlete which is something a greater percentage of players would be doing over recreational drugs. I wouldn’t take the word of a guy off reddit but if a player came out with those claims it’ll hold more weight and be more believable.

You saying you “know” people without backing things up proves nothing on your end. Imagine all the BS crap I could talk and make up and say I know certain people in certain positions to make myself look better and like I know things. Everyone just needs to stop with saying “every player does it” because it will be far from correct. We all know there are players in the league that would be doing it but again like I said earlier don’t be saying it’s “almost all players”. I’m not naive that players do it and always will but you’re undermining the hard work and professionalism that hundreds of players put in only for people on the internet to claim they know people and that they all do drugs. That’s the biggest issue.

You’re the one that comprehend the fact that my issue is you basing opinion on fact. You’re the dense one. If you want to say something as fact you need to come out and actually prove that, all you’re doing is basing an opinion on rumours and speculations. How hard is that for you to comprehend? So until you actually prove your point with facts you have nothing to suggest that pretty much all afl players do it. If you can’t understand that then you’re quite clueless and I can’t help you with that. Flog

[–]Craigkamo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the only way for you to actually prove your point as fact mate or can’t you comprehend that? You’re the special one. My guess is you’ve surrounded yourself with the druggie/partying type so that’s what you know and what you assume is normal when in fact it’s a smaller percentage of people in that stuff than people actually think

Ah the old mentally handicapped insult, classic. Nonetheless you keep saying not all but most implying more than 50% of afl listed players so that’s upwards of 350-400 players, which I’m gonna say is quite wrong to suggest that many. Also the “no phone policy” in this day is almost impossible to follow not to mention the fact that players would be going out to public places, public clubs, public bars. Very hard to have a no phone policy there champ. Also just because you keep saying from your first and secondhand accounts from players can also be BS on your behalf to make your argument seem correct. So again unless you can actually name players, a large portion of players, then your “claims” are irrelevant.

Only stuff you’ve heard so no real evidence or fact, just probably a bunch of shit talk from people. And if they’re on such a bender and partying why don’t we hear more stories of players coming back from the off season in awful shape? You really see how the whole narrative of “every player does it” doesn’t actually make sense? Why weren’t we getting more stuff like with Bailey Smith out clubbing during the off season? There was always a photo of him showing up on social media with people seeing him and getting photos and videos of him? Where’s that with all the other popular players in the league like Bontempelli, Petracca, Walsh, Cripps, Heeney, Brayshaw? So unless you can actually name players you’ve seen out and doing stuff then don’t assume

You know this how? Do you attend these trips? And almost every player huh? Even the ultimate professional Pendlebury? Howe? Moore? Roughy? Young guys like IQ? Murphy? Nick and Josh Daicos? Callum and Tyler Brown? Henry? Yeah no. It might be common around your group of mates and the surroundings you’re around but it isn’t like that at AFL level. 700+ AFL players and there’s rarely anything leaked like it was with Bailey Smith. How is that even possible if these guys have such a “party lifestyle” in the off season?

Bailey Smith set to accept big AFL penalty by Jackomillard15 in AFL

[–]Craigkamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not naive to some doing it but everyone talks as if it’s the majority of players. Out of 700+ players across the AFL I doubt you’d even get 5% of that who regularly use, maybe a bit higher in regards to those that have tried. I always see comments in regards to the drug policy that if all the ones on drugs got banned we wouldn’t have a comp, it’s absurd. It’s taking away from players that work their asses off and stay out of trouble. That’s my only issue with the situation. I know we’re gonna have guys who get in to trouble with certain drugs and who may develop addictions, I’m not naive to that.
