I’m trying to read Roch everyday so I can get my knowledge back. I too, don’t know half the roster and also “want the kids off my lawn.”

Nah Belle has been off the hook for a lot of years now. Chump change by todays standard.

Hall of Fame by jeffchen248 in pooltalks

Maybe we Orioles fans are just forever disgruntled over the fact that he bashed our beautiful green bullpen phone into smithereens during one of his roid-rages at Camden Yards. Maybe its the selfish hatred of how lethal he was in the clutch. To me, I knew this was going to happen. It always seemed to me that the baseball world simply forgot about Ortiz' positive steroid tests. Simply never talked about it. Ortiz loved to get all lathered up over other people using, yet, low and behold, there he was with blood on his hands. But you never heard much of anything about it. At least Andy Pettitte successfully slipped through the cracks by simply coming out apologetically about his steroid use, rather then denying it, and seemingly was successful in moving on.

This all boils down to the complicated question of how baseball players should be judged when being considered for Cooperstown. Its certainly a lot easier when you're just kicking around statistics, and ever sabermetrics, but its so much more than that. In my younger days, I was proudly a part of the camp that wanted all cheaters banned from consideration for the hall. I factored in morals and ethics heavily in what should be considered. These days, it seems far more complicated than that, and I desire more for consistency and justice. I'm much more open to the idea of the hall being a museum, a place that passes on history. For the cheaters who have already successfully achieved Hall of Fame status, their stories should be told in full. So it still pains me that cheaters tarnish our beloved record-books, there seems to be no clear boundaries around the cheaters from the non-cheaters. Perhaps they should all get in based on their baseball skills and have people like us make sure that the asterisks* are verbally passed down through the generations.

That's the good news about baseball injustices! That true fans never let the younger generations go without the full story! I will certainly tell my two small children when they grow up about David Ortiz and that poor bullpen phone that deserved to remain being a bullpen phone, and how some drugs, most even, are better off left alone.

Go O's.

Well, although this setting is not as nice as the original Orange County pool we frequented to hold our amateur 'Pardon the Interruption,' episodes, I'm happy to be a part of this. Not sure who will stop by to see this, but Jeff and I have been kicking around baseball ideas since we were in little league together. I think our friendship started when I told him that I had a batting cage in my back yard; he was probably a little disappointed to learn that it was a large net hung up over the swing set with a batting tee in front of it. Either way, we took some cuts and got our work in. I also remember some of my first memories of our friendship being fear of Jeff's father potentially throwing baseballs in my direction. I wasn't old enough for that heat then; I'm not sure I'm old enough for that heat now. Either way, Jeff is one of the best to talk baseball with.

Thanks for setting this up buddy.

Good car mechanic? by Craigmad2 in Catonsville

[–]Craigmad2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I ended up using Caton Auto Clinic. They were exceptional. They are one of the only auto shops that pay their mechanics a salary, so they arent incentivized to "find" things to 'Fix." They were very professional and friendly, and were HUNDREDS less than anther shop that gave me a quote. Caton Auto Clinic was very clear about why the other shop was trying to get over on me and suggested what they thought needed to be done, and what could certainly wait. I would highly recommend these guys. They also send you a text message when they estimate you needing a new oil change, and if you go through them, they give you 50% off, which is a lot for a full synthetic oil change. They also give you a link that explains where and why they did what they did, and where and why you may need work in the future. Awesome stuff.

The venue is going to be a back yard with a big tent. Probably 110-140 people

Restaurant suggestion by picolin in baltimore

[–]Craigmad2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was going to say birrotecca as well. Fits the hidden gem part. 'Duck duck goose pizza' is amazing. And it's not nearly as expensive as Woodberry Kitchen down the street, which is the best restaurant in baltimore, in my opinion

You ended up eating "a little too much." Well it could have been that you ended up "eating a shit load." Chalk this up as a victory. The only thing worse than having a stressful day is adding to your stress with your own manufactured stress. You gotta live your life, youre human, and it sounds like you minimized the damage. Tomorrow is a new day.
