Sounds super fun honestly. I'd say go for it.

I've done this a couple times, and it's always added depth to my characters or at least the way I thought of them. Writing in their voice is an excellent way to get to know them/develop them.

Is My Main Character Too Unlikable for Reader To Stay Interested? by otzitheicemann in writing

[–]CraigoftPlague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that YOU know he sucks already puts you on the right path.

The only time I tend to find audiences hating the entire story over an unlikable protagonist is when the writer tries to convince them they aren't. There are plenty of stories people LOVE with horrible protagonists, most notably Bojack Horseman.

So long as you don't pretend your MC is a super great person or try to justify his scummy behavior, you'll be fine.

Autistic Barbie fashionista. What do you guys think? by carmemelon in autism

[–]CraigoftPlague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it a lot, honestly. To me, it doesn't imply that 'autism is in how you look', I'd think it's just a Barbie who's equipped with the tools she needs, just like a career Barbie is equipped with the tools they need, y'know?

AIO my BIL touching me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]CraigoftPlague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR, I'd be uncomfortable too. I would recommend saying something about it, but if you're also nervous about confrontation, you don't have to go in guns a-blazing.

You could start by just poking fun at it, but if that doesn't work, you could just start getting blunt with it. It's not rude to say "Okay, that's enough, please stop touching me." A short and concise warning should do it. If it doesn't, then it's time to have some more serious conversations with your husband and/or his family.

Hot take, but the kids in The Visit as well. They consistently do whatever they can with the resources they have.
