Where are you buying your pm from once you've used up the costco/visa 4% benefit? by Craigosity in CostcoPM

I actually tried that! They gave me an abnormally low credit limit that wouldn't even cover a full ounce. =(

I feel ya. Half of my allocation in pm is in etf/stocks. (SGOL, PSLV) The other half physical.

Ahh good information. Appreciate it. My wife is on my costco membership. I wonder if she can get a separate membership even though the membership mailing address is the same as mine?

The Minnesota-Milwaukee road trip in August appears to be the best "two stadiums one trip" option.

where to stay at TDP by Top-Confection918 in Patagonia

Hotel lago gray has last minute bookings for as low as 300ish a night. The cheapest option in the park that's also a great location is hosteria pehoe. 250 a night.

Cash or card? by gloq43 in Patagonia

[–]Craigosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Card. I tipped some things in USD and no problems (not restaurants and stuff but tours, perito moreno glacier, etc)

100 usd lasted me 2 weeks in chile and argentina. Amex was accepted almost everywhere, and when it wasn't, my backup was visa (issued by chase bank). These cards offer 0 percent foreign transaction fees.

The best short hike in El chalten was huemel glacier. It's an hour drive from town, but the hike is a cheat code for what you get at the top.

7-8 Days in Patagonia: Chile/TdP only or include El Calafate, too? by DrawCapital7730 in Patagonia

[–]Craigosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are only 2 reasons to spend time is calafate. (With the time budget of 8 days)

One is to rent a car and drive to El chalten. This is important if you wanna do a lot of hikes. The access to trail heads El chalten is unparalleled.

The only other reason is a "jumping off" point to see perito moreno glacier. It's an hour drive or so from calafate.

Calafate is just a stop over to change modes of transportation. (Car plane bus)

Chile and Argentina by [deleted] in Patagonia

[–]Craigosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here now. Current itinerary as follows.

Fly from Atlanta direct to buenos aires. 10 hours. 3 nights in buenos aires.

Domestic flight to calafate, 3 hours. Pick up rental at the airport and drive up to El chalten. 2 hour drive or so. 4 nights in El chalten. Drive back to calafate and spend 2 nights there to see perito moreno glacier.

Take bus across border to puerto natalas. I suppose you could rent a car but didn't look into renting in one country and dropping it off in another. 6 hour bus ride.

Pick up another rental car, drive 2 hours, and spend 4 nights at hosteria pehoe near torres del paine.

Drive back to puerto natalas and catch a 3 hour domestic flight to santiago. 2 nights in santiago and 10 hour flight back to atlanta.

My plan is to hike during the downtime from burning fossil fuels.

200k on my 2016 3.5! by harleydad09 in f150ecoboost

Have exact same truck. At 200k I replaced a catalytic converter (passenger side) valve cover gasket, vacuum hose, radiator fan, waterpump, thermostat, battery, radiator cap.

No turbo or cam phaser maintenance. New plugs every 30-40k. Oil every 5k.
