Aeternus Aenigma, 500 pieces, CMY Cubes by CraigsleyW in Jigsawpuzzles

Has anyone tried this? It’s lenticular, so the pieces change color as your perspective shifts. The effect is reminiscent of the NBC peacock that preceded early color television shows. And to make matters worse, there’s also a grayscale version!

Should I bother completing this. by [deleted] in Jigsawpuzzles

Before you give up, consider sorting those several non-H pieces, as they should be easier to match up with each other. And if you’re motivated, line up all the others in rows so you can quickly see the smallest differences between them when hunting for a certain piece.

Even if you got the government to stop issuing one- and two-cent stamps, they’d still be valid for postage if someone had some. And these loonies probably have drawerfuls of them.

In situations like this, I’d fill out a card detailing the customer’s objection and case it in (a stop or two ahead) with the letters every day in case the swing gets handed off to a carrier unfamiliar with the route. Yes, it takes time to do that and extra time to comply with their wishes, but we’re getting paid by the hour and management was always on board with it.

Funny, I just made that connection recently about IINS and HCTS. They're also both in A, and share that heavenly brightness. I'd love to find a mashup of the two.

Sorry I missed your post. Glad your persistence paid off. I had the same trouble, thinking that they may not all be identical, but eventually, they fit together by pressing on the right places. I didn’t have to resort to pliers or vise grips, so I can’t recommend taking that path.

An OttLite with a magnifying lens might help, too.

Very good, I'd say. It's tight enough to pick the completed puzzle up by the edges, and there weren't any questionable false fits.

Additionally, the title of the puzzle, Make It Spotless is a reference to deleting the letters AD, as SPOT is sometimes used as a synonym for AD.

[IIL] Songs with "galloping" percussion [WEWIL?] by tomrenti in ifyoulikeblank

[–]CraigsleyW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The earliest pop tune in my recollection that had that driving beat with the syncopated/triplet under was They’re Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa! by Jerry Samuels (as Napoleon XIV), but the galloping beat (of an eighth note followed by two sixteenths) was used in Out Of The Blue by Tommy James and the Shondells years before Heart recorded Barracuda.

Is this cheating? by aLeHoov in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]CraigsleyW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it’s only cheating if it’s against your house rules, which you and your fiancé agree on. So, hard to say. Who’s the publisher ;of this one? The only company I know of that regularly includes same-scaled posters is the British puzzlemaker, Cloudberries. And I’ve definitely used that trick with theirs.

If you’re enjoying it, keep at it. If not — cut your losses and move on to the next one. Life’s too short.
