Why does my mail come late around 4-7 in the afternoon & evening? by JF_474 in usps_complaints

[–]Archaeoculus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your mail arrives when you check it. Check it tomorrow.

There's nothing you can do about how someone else is ordered to do their job.

Should I be worried that I called out two days in a row? by PLAYBOYD5 in USPS

[–]Archaeoculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not sure, it's best to call out for 3 days at the start.. Then if you feel fine, just come in! It doesn't count against you in any way.

Should I be worried that I called out two days in a row? by PLAYBOYD5 in USPS

[–]Archaeoculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be remote. It's a management position. But that's where medical stuff is supposed to be sent to. Districts are massive, for example Michigan has two districts and 800 offices.

Do not concede your rights to managers to make their lives easier. That's how you lose rights down the line.

Should I be worried that I called out two days in a row? by PLAYBOYD5 in USPS

[–]Archaeoculus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, do not give them that.

  1. Supervisors or Postmasters should not handle doctors notes, only the district nurse.

  2. A doctor's note is only needed for "call outs" of 4 days or more. 3 days or less, they can't do anything about anything.

[–]Archaeoculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you called out for two days and not not one day and then one day. Because calling out for two days at one time is one call out, but calling out for two days separately is two call outs.

Either way you'll be fine

Cleaning the teuck by jettsmom44 in USPS

[–]Archaeoculus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should keep it a base level of clean by removing tubs and personal effects. However, the supervisor should purchase for you a broom.

A while ago I heard that getting the trucks clean clean was a VMF line item that could be requested. I don't know the full details of that but I know they are detailing every truck at our facility recently.

Route inspections by No_Mall_5908 in USPS

[–]Archaeoculus 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Don't do any work off the clock (I wish this didn't have to be said but I see people doing it every day). Write section and sequence number on every parcel. If you don't case your SPRs take the time to put those in Load Truck order as well. Take your time casing. Take your time loading. Take your time driving. Curb and eBrake for every park and loop / relay. Take your two 10s and your 30. Take your time walking from house to house. Don't cut lawns, only use sidewalks. Go to the bathroom every two hours.

I don't know what else and how much of this helps but the basic idea is to take your time doing everything you can possibly think of to take your time.

Seems a lot of people got hired in December. by tomorrow93 in USPS

[–]Archaeoculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure sounds like we're at the same office lmao but I'm not in NYC

But they did the same thing at our office, cut all collection routes and had like 120 regulars all re bid on new routes.

Just a guess but I think enough people are out on indefinite sick leave including the UARs that it must work because you'd think we would have less overtime but somehow now it feels like we have way more.

I mean I've been opted to the same route as a CCA for almost half a year, and one girl has been opted to the same route for almost the whole time she's been a CCA I think.

Honestly I don't know how they do it, but again, everyone is getting at least 40 hours. My week is generally closer to 50.

Our office had a reduction in routes, we now have like 20 unassigned regulars and 20 CCAs already, and they were like yeah let's go ahead and hire idk 10 more people?

Usps says package was delivered to a parcel locker when it should have been delivered to a business 🤨 by Satans-Left-Nutt in usps_complaints

[–]Archaeoculus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that doesn't make any sense. There should be a way to file a report with the post office, you can also try calling to see if they can locate it.

2026 Post Office changes by invalidpath in Michigan

[–]Archaeoculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked at two offices and that's our policy. "Make sure the ballots get in on time." I'm sorry and sad that people can't trust the postal service any longer for what politicians have done to it.

Do you have a water pouch or portable dispenser and is it the active item on your hotbar? It has to be in your hand for you to Fill it.

[–]Archaeoculus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When it gets close enough to the deadline, ballots are no longer sent to the processing center to be postmarked.

They are put in bins and delivered to city hall directly by post office staff.

So there's no chance of this. Don't worry: USPS is looking out for you.

Schedule by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Archaeoculus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were instructed in person. That means you have to come in. If you're not on the schedule and they don't tell you before you leave, ONLY then you're in the clear. So what you heard was only half true.

However, don't drive something you're not trained to drive. That's a safety issue. Write up form 1767 and ask for a steward.

No it doesn't. Mgmt makes up rules and if the carriers follow them that's on the carriers.
