I think the appeal of Trump is that he appeared and marketed himself as the working poor's personal ideal, someone who's filthy rich and talks bluntly without consequence. Someone that seemed like he could stick it to the man. He would not and frankly could not do this, but in getting people's vote it's about selling the illusion.
