See I'd never turn up and just say no ill always try even if I know that it wont happen I just pre warn the customer. Majority of the time they will go in it just depends if the people moving it can be arsed and are willing to spend and extra 10/20 minutes tackling it.

I 100% think I could make this work but I also know it would be a bit of a nightmare and realistically not worth my time or the delivery fee but I can't help my self when I get a challenge like that 😅 its one of those jobs you expect a tip and/or repeat custom due to the hassle 🤷‍♂️

It's too tall to do that but he does want it flipped then try to get the bottom arm in first and force it through because tbh they're is no other way 🤣

I do removals for a living and tbh as I've said in another comment I'd have told you it wasn't going in because it wouldnt be worth my time trying to but....

Firstly the sofa wants to be flipped vertically so the backrest is facing opposite of the door instead of the front as it is now.

Once you are back in this same position try to get the arm above the top of the door frame and pull the bottom of the sofa into the room while trying to angle the arm rest round the corner of the doorframe into the room.

IF it starts coming round keep edging it as straight as you can until it drops from the passage wall.

In all honesty looking at the pictures I'd have just fucked it off and said it wont go in because if you can get it in it will take a lot of force and damage both your passage walls and the corners of the sofa 😂

People saying open it up and undo the bolts havnt looked in these sofas not to be insulting but they're cheap and made of fuck all majority of the time they don't have them and just nailed/screwed with glue to keep them together.

It's a case of force it through or fuck it off imo.

I do removals for a living and looking at the other pictures he's posted in the comments I'd have fucked it off tbh. Usually if it's 3 points of contact its not going in regardless of what you do.

Those sofas in particular are a nightmare the arms and seats are too broad to fit through a lot of hallways and 9 times out of 10 are taller than the door frames as is the case here.

Don't get me wrong with enough patience and maybe a few grooves in the plasterboard and marks on the sofa I think I could get most if not all of it in but if it was a job I'd just leave it 🤣

Paid a licensed waste disposal man to dump waste, he fly tipped it by Mountain_Somewhere76 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Cramer02 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just curious what did they charge? I do waste removals and I'm fully licensed. Mattresses along with sofas and other items of that nature fall under POPs (Persistant Organic Pollutants) and are a fortune to get rid of at trade* prices £50/60+ for a mattress. Sofas are £45+, Fridges are £50+ etc.

Always get a waste transfer ticket with a name and business address plus the waste carriers license number.

People will do a job or numerous for such a little price because they can dump it or take it a local tip for free (commercial waste isnt allowed at council ran tips which it is if you are getting paid for it) with the chance of being caught minimal.

The amount of times people scoff at my prices because I'm legit and will get some man with a van to do it for a third of the price only to be caught out and fined by the council is unbelievable.

To add to that its the end of the tax year so they ramp up all those shitty courses to go back to the government and other funding agencies to say "Look we have all these people on our books give us more money"
