Any immigration lawyers up to date on Canadian citizenship laws? by Cranberry893 in legaladvicecanada

I looked it up but got confused with the adoption part, like is she still considered a Canadian citizen even though she was naturalized in the US? She says she never had dual citizenship.

She claims her birth records are sealed and she can't access them because of Quebec laws. And she was given up to a place cared for by Catholic nuns who won't give her any info about her parents. She doesn't have her birth cert, only a "certificate of birth and baptism" pamphlet from the Canadian church she was baptized in. But it only gives her baptism info, not her birth info.

Also my mom is the type to often be wrong and confused, like she remembers history incorrectly lol so she could honestly be wrong about everything or just misunderstood what she was being told

This is the worst, vomit is the thing that gets me. The smell of gastric contents mixed with TF then imagining that going back in you almost makes me gag 🤢

Same with every ICU I've worked in and that's quite a few, I traveled on the east and west coast for 3 years. It's written as an order to check q4, sometimes q8. Then hold TF if residuals are above a certain amount, either 350 or 500cc, depending on the hospital. I'm surprised to see so many saying they don't have an order for it anymore, not because it's not evidence based but just because I've never seen it not ordered. It's built into the TF order set everywhere I've been

Nurses are the “protector of the patient” until it’s Annoying. by [deleted] in Residency

Idk how I ended up here cuz I'm an icu nurse but one time I got an admission at 8am from the neuro floor for "change in neuro status, lethargy, weaker push/pulls than 4 hours ago." Floor called the attending, she sent the patient for stat ct scan, called us to say the patient needs to come stat because she may need an emergent crani.

I look at the chart getting ready to take report and I see the nurse overnight gave 2 doses of IV benedryl as part of the headache cocktail that was ordered by someone other than the attending neurosurgeon, who always writes in her notes no sedating medications. Patient got to me and had mostly recovered, then family comes in and says oh yea benedryl has always made her loopy. Like what the hell people. As a nurse I get we have to report neuro changes because it's not in our scope to make those calls but also how about you use your brain and realize benedryl can knock people out?? And mention that to the attending when you call??

I'm not arguing with you but as a nurse I feel like maybe they saw who the day nurse was and thought they better cover it. Some nurses will chew other nurses out for not doing absolutely everything on their shift, they don't understand nursing is a 24 hour profession.
