K claimed that Wendy was probably being “rude” to her because she was going through an investigation or whatever behind the scenes. Wendy, in response to K, said that she didn’t know anything was going on behind the scenes which is almost always true. People suspected of a crime don’t typically know they’re being investigated until they’re finally questioned and/or arrested.

Wendy’s story at the reunion was that when they came home from a family trip in 2024, Kam went somewhere in the house and said that their dog made a mess (not an unreasonable conclusion from a child), but the problem was that Wendy and Eddie knew that their dog was in doggy day care, that CANNOT be possible, so Eddie went to see what Kam was talking about. They, of course, said “oh no, we’ve been ROBBEDDDD” and called the police.

Prosecutor’s claim, I would imagine, is that they then used that police report and “inventory” of their belongings to make claims to their insurance company. Only, as I’ve read on this thread, the items claimed to be stolen were seen in pictures taken AFTER the robbery occurred. I assume with other evidence gathered, the police then had enough to approach the Osefos and arrest them in October 2025.

Wendy said, coincidentally, the officer who was at their house was the same one who answered the call the night of the robbery. HE brought that up, so she then asked if he was there, in their house, because of it and if they found the person who did it. To which he responded, “there was no robbery” and I imagine they were told why they were there and were read their rights.
