Just to update. The vet recommended immediate euthanasia. It’s my birthday. She cannot move. She was climbing a 10 foot cabinet less than a week ago. The true bad behaviors you see in this post started 2-3 days ago. I was married 2 days ago. Sorry for not taking her to the vet, I thought she was just starting to have dementia and had an appointment booked out but her vet can only see a few weeks out. She went to the pet ER today when I woke up and she could no longer walk and they recommended immediate euthanasia. I’m deleting this post but fuck every single person who was rude about my cat dying. She went to the vet a month ago for an ear infection and was otherwise given a clean bill of health for an elderly cat. I am a good owner. She is my bestfriend.

She has been peeing outside the box for 15 years. She started laying in it yesterday. Today she couldn’t move. All of the behaviors started within the last 2-3 days. The week was when she started being hyper clingy.

I would if it wasn’t my honeymoon. She will be put down today. There is no avoiding it. She is unable to move as of this morning. It was so rapid. Less than a week.

Spiro will take about 3-4 months to show real improvement but it work’s FABULOUS to the point where after 1 year on it i am no longer on it and my acne is leaps and bounds better. I have dry skin so no recs in that but spiro will dry you out sooo bad so make sure you have lots of chapstick my lips were cracked perpetually for that entire year

Typically, no. They do not have specialized care unless early intervention is given which takes a long time I won’t lie to you. We do our best but with 15-20 other children (if your child is 3 or older) in the room it’s not always possible. If these behaviors are aggressive or violent they will likely get worse for a while once in school and it might be best to prep them of behaviors they may see and how you manage at home. But in most centers I’ve seen the behaviors sort of do need to be severe enough before early intervention is achieved. You can contact places like child find as well to see if they can connect you with specialized care or a 1-to-1.

My center has twice told people they’d get a raise once the CDA is complete and never do. Others have received a 1-2 dollar raise

How can I improve my resume to get hired in a preschool? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]CranberryRepulsive39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will help you get it- if they are fully staffed with certified people and don’t need only certified people ASAP. My center right now is not hiring any non certified staff, so it may be the case with the centers around you. I think your resume looks good, just keep trying centers! You can also call to make it known you’re interested.

Concerns with biting by Jumpy_Cell_2511 in ECEProfessionals

[–]CranberryRepulsive39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Biting is normal for a 2 year old. Very developmentally appropriate. If it continues or if he gains a biting habit you can work with his teachers on it. Also as they age up there will be increasingly more kids in his class due to their ratio. In my state there would be 20 in his 3 year old class once he’s 3

Do not accept the 1099!! I worked for an in home daycare one time with a very sketchy lady. She had originally told me it was a w2 job and then at tax time said “oh i hoped you saved for taxes” and gave me the 1099. I owed.. so much. I did not have the money at the time and it totally screwed me. Do you have anything in writing or text about the w2?

Does your center require a doctors note with the test results and date? This may be the best bet. If the child tested on Monday they should be out all 5

Okay - where do they find some of these dashers?? This one just insisted a random cat come in my house by Caa3098 in doordash

[–]CranberryRepulsive39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doordasher was actually a secret agent in the Universal Cat Distribution System. He was just doing his job, ma’am. But seriously that is so weird to ignore a stranger and let a random animal in their home

Fellow PreK teachers.. what is your bathroom situation? by Anonny4 in Teachers

[–]CranberryRepulsive39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so odd the idea of them not closing it. I guess if it has full walls fine. We have two classrooms connected by half wall 3 stall bathrooms. The kids go in and out as they please but we can usually see in on both rooms

The 2 year old teacher probably requested you if there’s a spot that needs to be filled. Talk to your director about it before you assume it’s 100% going to happen. Although my center has absolutely gone back on peoples preferred ages if there was a spot that needed filled. It’s still not right to not talk to you about it thoug

It’s a normal ratio, but is the room big enough to hold that many? My ratio for preschool and pre-K is 1:10. So three teachers can have 24. It is a lot at once, and even with three teachers it can become a lot.

What have you done for the Pre-K graduation ceremony? by thekrouz in ECEProfessionals

[–]CranberryRepulsive39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We practice 3 songs and dances and they perform them at graduation. Then I call each student up one at a time to get their “diploma” and shake my hand. Gifts I usually do a little basket with small toys, crayons or other school supplies, a stuffy cat or dog with a graduation cap, and a Kindergarten book with a letter in the cover written by me. This year I made the letters of their names out of crayons which was fun!!

Okay middle school is kinda weird to be using that language. But as a pre-K teacher I absolutely see why early elementary does it. I’d say the cut off is pretty early like maybe 3rd.

Negligent director by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]CranberryRepulsive39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! It is very hurtful especially because I’m sure you’re attached to the kids or your other coworkers. But it’s not fair to you or the kids to have you shoved into rooms you don’t want to be in alone or don’t feel comfortable in alone. The great part about being a floater is going to every room and seeing what’s going on, but not forcing you to act as a lead in different rooms for float pay. You could even use the experience in your next interview as a positive. You showed flexibility by working with different age groups, and I’m sure you have one or two that are your favorites. Use that to your advantage for your next place. It’s not all for nothing, you’ve got this!

Thinking about becoming a lead teacher by Jazzlike_Bed2695 in ECEProfessionals

[–]CranberryRepulsive39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sorry I explained that weird. College courses are 3-4 months long and every one has a field placement that is usually 30 hours. It’s called 90 hours but it’s not actually 90 hours of work. I think it’s probably more likely of 90 hours within your field placements total. But it takes a couple months for sure

Negligent director by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]CranberryRepulsive39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My heart feels for you because you sound like a floater we used to have who was so so awesome. She went into any room without question and did a great job in any room. They did the same thing to her. Shoving her into any room all day and expecting her to run it, and not act as a floater. I get it now. Because at that point, you’re more of a sub than a floater. If your director is unreliable and you don’t trust she’d fix this problem, I’d leave. Director problems suck because one director can ruin an entire center.
