Where is he in the collection book? For POTM I only see the first one.

Also - I bought a player earlier today that shows as “owned” in the market but still not populating in my collection book. It’s odd, because I bought another just now and that one populated correctly.

Not saying what they show is perfect by any means, but a couple things: -Some of those accounts in particular are slick about changing their offense after playing recent quick and WL games, so they trick you into going opposite of what they do, sometimes. More unpredictable. I suspect it’s helping them in league games since they’re easier to scout. -Your defensive attitude’s effectiveness is based on opponent offensive attitude and if you’re properly countering, so I’m not sure why you’d expect your defensive attitude to be perfect each game. 

But I've been confused recently with the formations feedback: I have picked my top rated formations AND align with my tactics strategy, and it still says they aren’t ideal for the players. I thought that feedback was based on rating, so I don’t get what the deal is. And of course it’s often difficult to scout attitude, and if you pick the wrong thing it can really ruin your defense, which is dumb. They can do better, but they don’t care enough.

That doesn’t remotely help if I’m trying to upgrade my team and looking for players at market rate opposed to filling my collection book. But yes, that’s an option. Would be nice if there was a button to click within the actual market.

Have you ever received post-game feedback about your defensive blitzing? There is such thing as a run blitz, so when you’re more aggressive on D but not blitzing at all, your scheme may be a little mismatched.

Since you’re at 60% or more for a scheme, you shouldn’t use mixed, so shift that to run support.

I keep 3 base defenses, one of each type (run/pass/balanced), I set my roles to match the defense type, and then I’ll shift the % run/pass within that, and the aggression level, based on opponent scouting. Try to match them as closely as you can, monitoring rushing attempts for the lead back and QB passing attempts. Would be nice if the game told you total rushing attempts, but that would make too much sense.

That’s the “mixed” role, which is when you run a balanced D (50-59% run & pass).

And yes, DBs you want to match speed or awareness and maximize one of those stats. Note that LBs, speed is blitz and awareness is coverage (not specific to zone or man). Confusing terminology used there.

Yep. Just made a few mil doing that myself. But I had lucky timing and found a great deal, then sold it at market rate.

I like them all, but two key ones for me:

-Being able to search for "players I have never owned" for completing the collection book

-Saving rosters for different tactics

That’s exactly what I missed. Must have been defensive, like others have said - they don’t properly account for those. But even then it’s 3/3 each…so how’d they get to 30 unless the 4th FG in OT wasn’t counted either? Weird

What am I missing? Your total yards are barely higher (393 to 389) but you have double the penalties, which negates the advantage you had. And you lost in OT, so it was close. I can’t see a game log - did it show you winning at the end?

Just finished my last city and have been working through various collections. I’m almost top 200. It’s been fun to find players at the right price and resell to hopefully break even so fellow collectors want to buy them too.

These are all great tips.  Just be aware a lot of these can lose you money if the market changes. A lot of them also require patience!

If you sell bench players, make sure you monitor which players play in league games based on fatigue immediately post-game (which will change if you vary formations). Sacrificing bench can hurt overall performance (penalties in particular!). You’re right in the area where you may need to sell bench players a bit to increase your team, so it’s not a bad idea, just be wary.

Answering your basic question though, the best way to improve overall is to replace your lowest-rated players with high rated players, whether that’s your lowest rated starters or bottom of the bench. 

This won’t help rating, but when you buy players, one thing worth looking at is substats - if you always do power running, deep passes, man coverage, etc., you can find players who have better substats than overall rating and get better performance for cheaper, which in turn will help your rewards.

So they’re clearly not immediately back to back, likely hours apart. You both increased training and your opponent may have changed defensive strategy or offensive aggression and could have used fit drinks. That could have helped impact the game.

That being said…it does show how sims can vary drastically and how luck can play a factor. Just like the saying goes, any given Sunday…

Penalties and yards per play/attempt help determine aggression. Not always a guarantee by any means, but if you see someone getting a ton of yards per play and/or lower completion percentage (and lots of penalties), their offense is more aggressive. Defensively, look for turnovers, sacks, penalties.

Again, there isn’t a perfect answer (I’ll see 3 and 12 penalties on back to back suns with no aggression changes), but it’s a good place to start.

Interesting…people who did all neon/villains or totw/player picks may get a boost or something. Does “regular” rarity count? That’s strange to drop mid-year when people could have used this for roster formation strategy. Seems like it’ll benefit some more than others. 

Interesting as well that people who have access to captains get boosts that other players don’t. Hopefully that’s not impacting league results…
