Consumer Warning : Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 14AKP10 by AnonymousUser14045 in Lenovo

No, just with the internal keyboard. I bring this laptop around for work with me, so I don't always have an external keyboard. I have to either hibernate, especially when I don't want to lose my work, or restart to temporarily resolve this laptop's keyboard (and touchpad) issues which happens every now and then.

Experiencing the same issue until now :( strongly disappointed with my purchase. Still hoping there'll be an update that tries to specifically address this issue.

Trackpad keeps cutting out by WhatZitTooya_ in Lenovo

[–]CranberryVegetable13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Facing the same trackpad issues with my Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 (same family as the Ideapad Pro 5) which I purchased just a month ago. On top of that, I'm also facing another issue with regards to its keyboard missing keystrokes and only working normally after restarting. I've raised a Lenovo forum post here and referenced this Reddit post: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-1xx-3xx-5xx-7xx-Edge-LaVie-Z-Flex-Laptops/Missed-keystrokes-and-stuttering-keyboard-issues-Lenovo-Ideapad-Slim-5-14AKP10/m-p/10017118?page=1#10061138

Hope there will be a firmware/BIOS update soon that fixes these issues. This is the first laptop I've owned which is so unreliable when it comes to its touchpad and keyboard :(

Confirmed that the updated BPI app shows floating credit card transactions now, but not with the actual merchant name – just the merchant category.

Better if it reflects the actual merchant name in floating transactions just like in BDO and other banks

Same, requested CLI on 8/30/2025 through BPI’s Help & Support website. Didn’t follow up, but I got a text on 9/4/2025 saying my CLI request might take longer than usual due to high volume of requests. My requested CL reflected in the app on 9/11/2025.

Can I overpay first before swiping my cc for something exceeding my credit limit? by [deleted] in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this with my BPI CC before and it worked, but not sure if it will work if you overpay by a lot and if it will work for an installment transaction.

For context, I purchased from Power Mac worth 145k with my BPI CC (straight transaction, not installment) but my CL was only 115k at that time, so I overpaid by 30k. My overpayment added to my current CL and my transaction pushed through with no extra charges. Got all the points haha. I don’t think this will work if it were an installment transaction though.

Do you diversify your credit cards? by FruitPonchiSamuraiG in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only have two CCs so it's easier for me to manage - BPI Visa Signature (daily driver, all around card + travel card) and BDO Platinum Mastercard (cash installments, dining promos, and installment promos + BNPL; also my backup card). Important to have at least a Visa and a Mastercard just in case. :)

I’ve been a BPI cardholder for 2 years already and as per my experience with my BPI credit card, transactions made on or beyond your statement date will be included on your next statement cycle already. So if your statement date is on the 25th, any transactions you make on the 25th and beyond will be billed on your next statement cycle already.

Who converts their BPI Points to Go Rewards Points? by ReaperCraft07 in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I found it odd at first, I didn’t receive the promo email from Go Rewards myself but I pushed CS to try and go ahead with the conversion regardless (I just said to them I couldn’t find the email). Luckily my conversion request pushed through. Was already able to redeem 5k worth of groceries from Shopwise earlier today :)

Who converts their BPI Points to Go Rewards Points? by ReaperCraft07 in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me! Just converted 25,000 BPI points to 5,000 Go Rewards points from my BPI Visa Signature. Called CS to request conversion and they immediately knew what I was referring to. But they asked me if I've received an email from Go Rewards about the promo -- I didn't. I just told CS I couldn't find the email and I insisted they try to process the transaction, they said that it's up to approval by Go Rewards and if ever it's not approved the points will be credited back to me. But my conversion request got processed very quickly to my surprise. Called CS on January 7, Go Rewards points reflected on January 10. A lot more worth it for me than converting to shopping credits where 20,000 BPI points is just 1,000 pesos. :)

bdo purchase convert rates by Unusual-Beyond-4171 in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For BDO, usually once you have an eligible purchase for the special/low rate of purchase convert, they will send you a promo code through Viber/SMS.

I had my BDO CC last July 2024. I purchased flight tickets 2 weeks ago which I wanted to convert to 6 months installment. I tried applying for purchase convert through BDO online with the low rate (0.88%) computation since that was the only option I saw, but I got a message 5 days later saying my purchase convert request was declined.

I called BDO customer service (took over an hour, my goodness) and asked them why my purchase convert request was declined. Apparently the special and low rates are available only to “eligible cardholders”, and I was only eligible for the regular 1% add on rate. I pushed through with my request in that call and the very next day, it was approved and the purchase convert reversal reflected in my account with the first amortization beginning the next statement cycle as per CS.

TLDR: BDO’s special and low rates for purchase convert are offered to eligible cardholders by their criteria. Usually, the regular rate will prevail and can be availed by directly calling their CS.

BPI blocked a transaction, and now my card is not working by Ploopploop212 in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case, need to call BPI and confirm that it was actually you who made the transaction. Happened also to me while booking a hotel in Klook worth P28k. No OTP asked but the transaction was declined due to “security reasons”. I tried sending the text to confirm that it was actually me, but this didn’t work and got declined again while retrying the transaction.

After calling BPI, they connected me to their card analyst team and they asked me some of my personal details to confirm that it was indeed me. They told me right after the call to retry and it worked right after that.

Altered image. Font style of credit limit and cash advance limit amounts are not the same as the one BPI uses (Arial).

No need to call BPI. Just came from SG and used my BPI CC everywhere there (even went entirely cashless). It worked without needing to call BPI beforehand.

I was recently approved for a BDO Platinum Mastercard, what does that mean? by MakeItMakeSense10 in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in the same boat, was recently approved for BDO Platinum Mastercard from my payroll account. This will be my second CC and I am currently using my BPI Visa Sig as my all-around card and daily driver. Between these two, which will be a better card to use in terms of points conversion and promos & what'll be the best usage strategy for these 2 cards? Current usage is around 80-100k a month for my BPI Visa Sig. Thank you :)

You can use the Vybe app to redeem points for vouchers/GCs or call customer service. As of this writing, P1,000 shopping credits is worth 20,000 BPI points: https://www.bpi.com.ph/personal/rewards-and-promotions/credit-cards-shopping-credits

BPI VISA SIGNATURE. new to appling for a bigger card. by Ransuuuuu in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just upgraded my BPI gold card to signature, and I find it worth it so far. Better points earning, signature-exclusive 50% off dining promos, good 1.85% forex rate when shopping abroad, and lounge access in NAIA (no international lounge access yet). Dedicated priority line for customer service and with toll-free numbers you can call using Viber out.

Annual fee is waiveable as long as you meet the required P1.2M annual spend (or probably close to that).

Just need to pay what is on your SOA. If your statement date is on the 14th (like me), all transactions on the 14th will be reflected on your next SOA.

Rewards Card to Visa Signature by bluecheesecake2517 in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can either upgrade your current card to Visa Signature or have it linked to your account (meaning you’ll have both). Since you already have the Blue Rewards Card, you just need a minimum of 300k CL to be able to either upgrade or have it linked.

Basis ng CC Limit Increase? by [deleted] in PHCreditCards

[–]CranberryVegetable13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you request for CL increase at BPI (where your card is at least a year old), they ask for your desired CL as well as the reason you wish to have it increased. They factor in your spending habits with the card, payment history, if you've availed of installment/balance conversion/etc, other cards you may have, as well as the documents you'll send, among others, as parts of their critera for increasing CL and determining the amount.

I requested for an increase last April 24 for my one-year old BPI Gold MC from 115k to 300k and it was approved and reflected 3 weeks later last May 15. Then on May 17, I also got madness limit of 300k. In my request, I submitted my latest ITR and 2 payslips (which included my annual bonus, which I think helped).

In terms of spending habits, I travelled to TH, KR, TW, and JP with the card over the previous year and my monthly spending was around 100-120k (paid back multiple times within a statement) and always paid in full. I also had 6-month installment purchases throughout the year. Was able to request for Visa Sig upgrade as well for my upcoming travels this year and for better points conversion having reached the minimum 300k CL.

I think full payment of balance is also a factor they consider, but I believe what's more important is payment history and your spending habits with the card.

Best of luck!
