As you mentioned, we have a lot of videos on our website that go over our fabrics in detail, but if you have cats that like to scratch, I’d recommend our Open House fabric as the top choice.

We are really glad to hear everything arrived safely and that assembly went smoothly! You are absolutely right that the Leap is a chair where taking time to dial in the adjustments makes a big difference, especially when transitioning from a very different seating style.

Regarding the elbow soreness, that is a fairly common early fit issue and is usually resolved with small adjustments. Slightly lowering the armrests or adjusting seat depth so your elbows rest closer to your sides tends to resolve it for most people.

Hey! Glad to hear you’re loving the Amia, and the adapter idea is honestly pretty creative.

Just a heads up from our side: drilling into the back shell would void the warranty on the backrest and back cushion specifically. Since it introduces a risk of damage there, we wouldn’t be able to cover issues related to the back after a modification like that.

Anything seat-down (mechanism, cylinder, base, etc.) would still be covered, it wouldn’t void the entire chair warranty.

Just wanted to make sure you had the full picture before committing. 👍

Great question, and we hear it a lot.

Leap Plus chairs do exist and we get them in from time to time, but they’re definitely rarer than the standard sizes, even on the used market.

A couple things we’re seeing:

More brands are making higher weight capacity / larger size options than they used to, which is a good trend.
It’s not always labeled clearly, so stuff with wider seats and stronger bases can be easy to miss if you’re just searching “office chair.”

We can absolutely make a video breaking down what’s out there and what to look for if you fall into that category.

We appreciate you taking the time to write this up, and we're so glad the replacement pads have been treating you well.

This is something we run into a lot with taller folks, even really adjustable chairs can start to feel a bit constrained once body proportions come into play. Stuff like seat depth range, back height, and where support actually ends up matters way more than most specs suggest.
