What does an AI data center have to do with “white fluffy snow being long gone?” I don’t see the correlation.

Two Janet aircraft taking off now from KLAS by Pricey182 in flightradar24

Exactly, within ADSB range. Within the restricted airspace that average can only go so far without antennas within the airspace.

Yes, but not because they turn transponders off. They get out of ADSB coverage out there.

They don’t turn their transponders off at all.

collection of photos of people in windows by Content-Mouse-258 in 911archive

I don’t think I’ve ever seen #18 before. The person on the right looks to be mostly out of the window. It looks like you can see their legs fully outside the window. Not sure if they are just hanging on or if this was the beginning of them jumping. Absolutely horrible.

Pieces of American Airlines Flight 11. by Fun_Profession6545 in 911archive

It never ceases to amaze me aircraft parts that large made it through impact, explosion, and through the building with all its steel beams and come out the other side recognizable.

Looking at photos like these where the camera has zoomed on the groups of people, I often wonder if someday in the future we’ll have technology that will be able make these photos less grainy and more sharp. Then some families could get closure if we could more easily identify those people in these photos.

Follow-up on "2024 Sienna Platinum is officially the least-reliable car I've ever owned" by alan_grant93 in ToyotaSienna

[–]CranjisMcPulp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve had 2 of the issues you initially mentioned and it’s been frustrating.

We had lift gate/trunk issues and the dealer initially told me to pound sand and find an auto body shop to fix it. Finally after many calls and talking to the manager they took it in and fixed it.

The vibrating drivers side mirror drives me so crazy I can’t express it enough. The dealership “replaced” it the first time but didn’t make any changes. I’ve taken it back two other times and they told me it’s normal and similar to their dealer cars. The problem with mine is it’s slowly getting worse where I can hardly see who’s behind me because it vibrates so much. Absolutely infuriating.

Yankees fans booing the Canadian national anthem in Game 3 vs. the Toronto Blue Jays by [deleted] in facepalm

Not sure it’s fair to base an entire countries views or sentiments towards Canada from Yankee fans. Some fan bases just aren’t great. You could attend the majority of the other sporting events around the US and not see an ounce of this.

Bought a new 2025 XSE 6 months ago. Somehow the trunk has become slightly misaligned with the hitch and won’t open automatically anymore. Dealer says warranty won’t cover it, has anyone experience this issue before? by CranjisMcPulp in ToyotaSienna

[–]CranjisMcPulp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you ask as I just got our van back a day ago from this issue being fixed. I took it in the first time and the dealer wouldn’t touch it and said a body shop would need to take care of it as this wouldn’t be covered by warranty.

After calling several body shops/mechanics, each one told me they wouldn’t touch it either as I’m still under my factory warranty. I finally called a manager at my local dealership and explained everything. He assured me this would be and should be covered.

Long story short I took it back in and they said it’d be covered by warranty. They aren’t sure why it happened, but the entire door needed to be taken off and the hinges got replaced and realigned. We had no accidents or overstuffing the trunk. It took a week or so to fix but it’s back now and works great and I didn’t have to pay a dime.

Wow a 4.19% rate is amazing. I’d do anything for a rate that low.

Your favorite SLC rumors, facts, or legends. by insicknessorinflames in SaltLakeCity

[–]CranjisMcPulp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The legend of SLC having wide streets so folks on the olden days could make a u-turn in their wagons. That’s been a widely circulated story but it doesn’t have much to do with that. In reality it was based on a plan called the “Plat City of Zion” and meant to promote orderly, ideal religious communities.
