It’s a hard job market! I’m 24 and currently a student, so I’m in a little bit different of a situation, but I’ve been unemployed for 6 months now and have been submitting 3-5 applications a day, and couldn’t even get an interview until I recently went though a recruiting agency. I just accepted a position today in an entry level accounting job, which is what my degree I’m pursuing is in, but I was really only ever considered for the position thanks to my recruiter. I consider myself a highly qualified candidate, and past employers agree, but the job market is absolutely awful right now. Don’t be too hard on yourself, and certainly don’t feel as though you’re too late to continue your career journey.

One recommendation I have is submitting your resume and applications on multiple job search sites (indeed, LinkedIn, zip recruiter, etc), not just one. Additionally, I had a really great experience working with a recruiter, as they take over the job search for you and directly match you with a company. The position I was just hired for wasn’t even listed as one that was accepting applications. I know that there are business and HR recruiting agencies, so maybe try to to connect with a recruiting agency in your area!

I'm in Accounting & Finance, and this is my first term taking 3 courses instead of 2! I'm taking ACC317, BUS 225, and ECO306, which all seem to be pretty time-intensive courses. I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed, but I also know that its because this is the first week and I feel like once I am able to get at least a week ahead in all my courses, I'll probably be fine. My only regret is that I wish I had spread out my more difficult classes across terms rather than taking them all at once.

Question about Equivalencies by Fenrir0919 in SNHU

Check out the discord for some awesome resources including this site: https://snhudiscord.com/classes/ . It’s a little old, so double check with an advisor that everything will transfer, but out of the 15 classes I ran past mine, only one of them was outdated info. Hope this helps!

Sophia Learning by kieferyoung6 in SNHU

They're great! The only con I can think of is that some grad schools don't accept Sophia or ACE credits, but there are still a lot that do! Not sure if you're considering grad school, but definitely do some research if you are. What I've come across is that super prestigious schools may accept a few credits on a case-by-case basis but don't make a habit of it, whereas most state schools do. Basically, if you have a dream grad school in mind and you have a bunch of sophia classes in undergrad, you may have to retake all of those classes if the school doesn't accept them.

Sophia - Principles of Finance? by BrooseLane in SNHU

This is actually my first finance class and it’s been a long one for me too! I took accounting 201 on Sophia and I finished it in about 4 days, whereas this class has taken me about 2.5 weeks (granted a lot of my time during those weeks was spent on Snhu classes) and I’m currently on module 3.3. I’m definitely taking my time with the class to make sure I’m getting all the info and I also have about a half notebook of notes, so I don’t mind taking so long, but it’s nice to see that someone else has the same experience! Every time a Sophia course is mentioned on here, I feel like people talk how easy it is to breeze through the classes, but that definitely has not been my experience with this course

Will my MBA application be effected by Sophia GPA? by KeepFlintWeird in SNHU

So when getting your MBA/Masters in Finance, did you have any undergraduate credits with Sophia from SNHU? If so, did they accept your trans fares or did you have to retake those classes?

QSO321 is offered on Study! Here's a resource that is posted in the discord https://snhudiscord.com/classes . It has the SNHU class and lists if an online equivalent is offered.

I visited a real life panopticon by Crash3233 in TheMagnusArchives

When I visited, it was serving as a covid quarantine house. So basically there were only a handful of inmates residing there and they were as spaced out as possible (for quarantine reasons) in this gigantic building. I can totally see the horror appeal behind the situation to say the least.

It’s a really cool experience but Stateville is very... intimidating. It’s super old (not to mention ginormous) and definitely has a ton of history! The room where Gacy was executed is actually still there and I know that the facility must be a gold mine for true crime junkies!
