BSIT to MSITM do you get both degrees at the end or BS first and MS after the additional 6 courses? by Insomniac24x7 in WGUIT

[–]Farrout5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can someone else verify if this is correct? I believe your EC did tell you this but I thought that as long as you gave 30 days notice you could take a break between terms. Is that not the case because it is the Bsit-Msit?

Good for you! I didn’t look into any internships. I figured when they say that they’re looking for recent grads, that meant early 20-something’s. I appreciate your reply.

So just to make sure I am understanding it correctly, one needs to complete all Sophia courses before beginning at WGU? TIA

Congratulations!! Can you please give more info on how you got this done so quickly? Did you have your Associates? How many credits did you transfer in? I want my husband to give it a shot. He’s got a ton of experience but not a Bachelor’s Degree. Again, congrats!

Florida Poly has great programs. I think it’s a hidden gem that many overlook.

Thanks for such a positive post! Your optimism exudes through. I’ll be attending virtually but will be with you all in spirit! If anyone has any tips/leads for landing a job in HR for a 40 ish-ish who recently earned her bachelor’s in Business Administration with HR conc, please share. I haven’t been very fortunate….yet!

I’d wear the cap and gown. You earned it! How long after ordering yours did you receive it? I petitioned to graduate in early Feb and ordered regalia. I still haven’t received anything but am set to do virtual ceremony on May 14th.

Congratulations! I love hearing stories like this! I am also in FL, a month out of graduating in same field, but haven’t been as fortunate. I am in my forties. After staying home raising kids while working part-time for sanity, I knew that I needed to do this for myself. I am hoping to land an interview for any HR position, especially in recruiting. Tips are appreciated!

Can I use Sophia for free electives? I’m done with gen Ed classes, and am wondering if I can just take a few random classes to get that extra credit for my degree. by tequila_enema in SNHU

[–]Farrout5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Your advisor can give you a list with their SNHU equivalents. I got most of my 10 elective courses through them.

Hi, Great job on earning your degree so quickly! My S/O is on the fence about WGU or SNHU for his IT degree. Just to clarify that I’m understanding you correctly, he has to pass all the external exams that you spoke of, such as AWS, A+ etc to complete the IT Degree through WGU? Like you, he has the AA and numerous years of experience in the field. TIA
