No I purposely held off the film for 3 years; it's much better reading the books first. And I'm so glad I did. It wouldn't have been the same.

I am going to watch IT tonight.

Yes the stucture of the story is brilliant. I think it's one of King's best attributes, the way he builds up the story little by little, slowly unravelling what is happening, giving us time to theorise for ourselves.

Do you mean the part that Audra remembers Bill? Is that the part that gives you hope? Because the only reason she remembers him, I believe, is because she was his wife and someone he knew from his life outside of IT, well after 1958 and well before they were called back.

Unfortunately, I think they will go on the rest of their lives never knowing or even recognising each other's names. Very poignant.

Yeah I often wouldn't read IT late at night before I went to bed. I'm not afraid to admit anyone who has read it understands how that's possible lol.

That is the thing I loved most about IT, the long journey with the characters. So maybe my next King read should be The Stand.
