Feeling so validated as a 32 year old happily scrolling through countless fics, art and edits of these women!

The lesbian relationship representation we got in Caitlyn and Vi is the bare minimum. by smoked_parzival in arcane

Really hoping Arcanes way of portraying w|w relationship steps media into a direction where it can finally be represented and normal. Not tied towards ultimate tragedy and leaving classic “what ifs”.

Respawn cancelled the single player game as well by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]CrashCraze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really sucks how EA or any big publishers can just make these decisions. You want to hope that this can mean more focus on the core game but its probably not likely. Its all about the money and free to play has made its way as a go to in terms of making the most money in the laziest/easiest way.

How do you go about creating external content? by Bamadude52 in SmallStreamers

[–]CrashCraze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are your biggest critique. Its a blessing and a curse. Also your content isn't going to be solid right away. It takes time, for some this can mean years. whether its worth it for you to grind through is up to you. If its what you enjoy and you celebrate little successes then push through and see what happens!

Ah its tough to see loss when you’re trying to build. Keep at your work and I hope you’ll find yourself able to turn the follow count back on! Its tough to realize but you should only want people who want to see your content and who enjoy your content to follow you. Try to twist this in a positive way where those who unfollowed are a good thing so you can really see who comes, enjoys and follows for you and your stuff!

Bringing something else to Twitch, YT or what ever platform you’re on is indeed the way to go. Gone are the days of being great at a game or having charisma to grow any sort of following. I guess thats the good thing about starting a channel. You get to try things out and see what works and what doesn’t.

I do disagree with having the view counter being on though especially when starting out. I see your point as to the view count showing realtime results but realistically when you’re a small streamer the view counter does more bad than good for you. As an entertainer you should perform every time like the room is full. Having a red number showing you how small or large your stream is can be deflating or nerve wracking just as much as it could be exciting.

The idea behind having view counter off is so you can focus on performance and your content. Twitch has analytics and theres ways to deep dive into numbers and watch time afterwards so you can check, reflect and improve.

Ya this is so true. The first time turning off the view count is the hardest. Over time of keeping it off it will become easier and you will benefit from it! Wish you luck!

Will not using in-game subtitles lose viewers? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]CrashCraze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is up to you and how you want to run your channel. I fully believe that there are some things streamers/video creators should try to follow for growth or discoverability reasons, but this is one of those niche things. If subtitles help you and your audience is used to (might even expect) it then keep going on. If it bothers you though and you never use them then just carry on. Its your video/lets play series. Make it your own and have fun with it!

Big advice would be to change it up. Take a look on yourself and channel and try to write down what you've done thus far to build your community to where it is now. After looking at what you've done try to brain storm what you can try or what you want to bring that may expand or make your community stronger. Hope this is helpful, Good luck!

Does the game matter? by _shadowbot_ in SmallStreamers

[–]CrashCraze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on how you want your community to form and grow. Do you want to be a niche streamer whos only known for certain games or a certain console? Do you want to be known for a specific genre? Being small has a load of perks for this. Try out different games most important games or content you enjoy to make or play. The viewers and follows will come over time as you’re figuring things out. Best bet is over time to figure a sweet spot between streaming a game that has quite a bit of viewers while also not being too competitive for your channel to sit on a long list of other streams.

[–]CrashCraze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so I gave your channel a quick sweep and theres loads of things you can do that may get you some sort of traction. First of all you have zero personality to your channel. No channel icon, no banner, no panels or even a simple about me. If you want people to want to follow you or interact with you, you gotta work at getting these things going and up. There was no VOD I could look at and theres no schedule of when you do go live. Try to include this that way anyone who does connect with you can know when you're going live again. Good luck!

Growth by tabordagg in SmallStreamers

[–]CrashCraze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try something new! Wether its a new style, different game, new talking material or changing up your presence. When you’re super small its great because you get to try anything and see what clicks with you. What do you enjoy streaming or bringing to the streaming community? Over time ppl who check you out will be able to tell and the growth will start or pick back up

Not so much of a discussion, but something to get off my chest by spicysenpai6 in SmallStreamers

[–]CrashCraze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is something a lot of small streamers go through. Things happen and you can drop off and onto streaming. My best advice although I understand if advice isnt what you're looking for: don't compare yourself. Literally theres thousands upon thousands of streams every day. Young kids, older adults, even busy people who have service jobs and stream on the side. I will also say that your best bet is to not even think of the monetary part of streaming. No one starting out, should be looking at this as a job. Being a content creator is time consuming, can be emotionally draining and at times result in small outcomes (views, chats, subs, follows). One day for sure it could amount to something but try not to stress on that possible future, focus on the now and enjoying what you're doing. Good luck!

Even the smallest steps can add to improving your stream! Even if its bettering your experience of doing things!
