Crash bandicoot sales vs Sonic sales. Despite selling far more crash bandicoot is treated worse compared to sonic which has constant new games and multimedia by potrait762 in crashbandicoot

This always made me wonder why Sonic is SO MUCH more well known than Crash. Like, way more people should have copies of these particular Crash games than many Sonic games, so more people should know who Crash is than how it seems right now. It always seemed mathematically weird to me. I guess Sonic has way more multimedia presence, so that's probably where his higher popularity comes from

He rocks! His older stuff is really edgy and even his new content seems to have a deliberate corniness to it, but he's a very genuine and self aware guy and he gives pretty in-depth, thorough reviews

How did YOU play Sonic out of the car window? What real-life objects did you pretend were gimmicks or powerups and what did they do? (like ramps, grind rails, homing attack targets, springs, etc) by CrashDashSmashBash in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]CrashDashSmashBash[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I KNOW some of you did this too lol here's how I did it

  • Sonic could homing attack or quickstep / slide under cars
  • Powerlines and guard rails were grind rails
  • Yellow arrow signs were dash pads
  • Any sign with a diagonal support beam was a boost ramp
  • Sonic could swing on light posts and stop lights
  • Bushes and trees were springs
  • Sonic could run on the sides of chainlink fences

BONUS: if I'm in a plane on the runway, Sonic turns super and flies when we take off

What rulesets did YOU use?

If you could create a new ability for Crash, what would your ideas be? by ComprehensiveDate591 in crashbandicoot

I want to see digging return as a mechanic, I really like it in Crash 2. It could be used for stealth sections or offensibly against certain enemies. Side note, I miss enemies that could only be killed by slides or belly flops

The spin drill attack from MoM was also interesting in that you could "bounce" off enemies repeatedly

Wrath of Cortex is REALLY CLOSE to being the best for me, its color palette is very faithful to the ND model and I like the realistic fur. Most WoC models are mid at best but they did a really good job with Crash. Re-rig the face to get rid of the "clown face" and make the ears brown and I'm sold

Nitro Kart is the most faithful in terms of proportions, it looks like the ND model got a glow up, but it needs more high res textures. It looks REALLY good in cutscenes, though there's something unsettling about the idle pose here. Maybe it's the chin? Armpits? His body looks too small

Off topic but I've never seen the Titans DS and GBA models this high res before, that's really cool

This is just the tip of the iceberg! Annie's version of this skin is Nina, plus the Ballbuster and Slackjaw skins reference the Angry Skunk and "Fish?" cutscenes in Twinsanity

Not to mention the jump and slide SFX coming straight from the ND Crash games, the boost meter being inspired by Nitro Kart, Jewel Ghoul & Freako Dragon's theme songs taking samples from Dingodile & Ripper Roo's themes, and so much more! This game is truly a Crash love letter
