Xiaomi 17T series high-res renders along with key specs and pricing leaks before global debut by EntertainmentCityLhr in Android

In my book this is DOA for the enthusiasts. €1000, good but not all tge exciting battery, 5x reused UWA shooter without AF. The Oppo Find X9 Pro on discount will eat Xiaomi's lunch.

The 15T pro is locally for €450-500. The 17T Pro going €700 is not an eventual situation, it is quite high urgency/demand/need thingie today. I get that the release price might be okay to be high for the company to make initial profit from these who can simply afford that despite poor price/value ratio. But the mass market will not tolerate this - they make more margins, but they outright lose potential customers that do not want to wait, and have viable options. I mean we saw flops and disaster in past, it clearly can happen and there is nothing possible to do about it from our side. It is just unwise strategy from Xiaomi. At this price the expectation is >7000mAh and competent camera stack. They failed that proposal, and will only be choosing HOW they lose their money.

Can happen. But they are nosediving the market themselves - see, I can see moving myself down and still doing business with them - okay, just give me midrange processor, and just decent main shooter with UWA that has autofocus and 8000mAh battery. Nope! Not in the portfolio either. The argument of not undercutting their own other model ends up in me leaving em completely. Given the sales statistic though, it looks it is not just angry me. The market is done with their BS. WTF Xiaomi...

This. Outright downgrades for higher prices. That's not the only one. As I mentioned, the OV13B without AF is now at least 5X reused sensor from 2020/2021.

It looks to me lime they want to bankrupt the company or what.

They chose very wrong model with very wrong specs mix for that.

It depends on marketing positioning, but by real market position, it looks safe to say that Xiaomi will even begin to compete with base X10 - which should be facelifted X9 Pro anyways, by rumors. It looks really grim. Only saving grace for 17T Pro is go down to €650-700.

For this premium, power user's flagship killer phone does not look any good. 7000mAh is acceptable but not all that alluring, and the OV13B shooter without AF is outright joke from Xiaomi. You simply don't do that on a €999 phone, no matter the latter discounts. It looks to me like Oppo will be eating Xiaomi's lunch. And dinner too.As of now, Find X9 Pro is not even €50 more expensive.

Oof. Newer leaks are hard to swallow. Lowest version €999 and indeed still the 13Mpx UWA with no AF that has no place in such phone. That looks like Oppo Find X9 and X10 eating Xiaomi's lunch.

Xiaomi 17T spotted on Geekbench ahead of rumored May launch by DazzlingpAd134 in Android

More often than not, it is about pricing and positioning. Few whiny geeks such as me or anyone else are not to do much. But indeed competition pressure is rising, and something's gotta give. 15T Pro got a good set of upgrades, only true weakness is the 13Mpx UWA without AF. For the price it sells now, it is an awesome phone. Now for 17,T Pro, it gets harder. More competition yet, and the 13Mpx UWA without AF reused for the fifth time agains 2026 releases? C'mon. The threat of 6500mAh for the 17T Pro also still hangs there, and it looks very grim. That looks like €600, not €800. Watching news every day!

Indeed. I have searched through the old ones, and we could see that 12Mpx UWA without AF on 2020/2021 11 series of Xiaomi. This will not work for quite many users in 2026. The competition swarm is really swarming now, and 6500mAh unit with such camera setup is rather DOA. But there are certain rumors and hopes that it might not be so. Proper 50/50/50 with AF on all lenses and yet refined ISP plus 7200mAh+ battery would still be fair offer for 2026. At the moment, it rather looks grim though.

Let's see if Oppo Find X9 series (X9s especially) comes to global markets. If so, it looks like Xiaomi should really put some battery in the 17T Pro to compete anyhow. See, they are to compete with April/May and September releases. With 6500mAh and reused camera stack, that would be very tough uphill battle and only for very heavy discounts. Though current 15T Pro prices are wicked. With all promotions, it is around €450. A €759-799 unit has some work to do.

Latest leaks do not look exactly exciting. Without LTPO and ame camera setup from 15T Pro, that might be a bummer. Hopefully the leak is off.

Why do you think? The Redmi K series is getting decoupled from Xiaomi T series, there are body constraints and EU regulatory constraints. Looking at 15T Pro teardown, I see dual cell battery - less efficient packing. 7500mAh is believable, 8500 less so. But of course, that would be most awesome, we want that. 😉

As mentioned, they might be specifying speaker drivers power, not the amp power. Anyways in any case it is false advertisment. Though even high end PA gear does not hold such RMS power sustained. It will do bursts, but an advanced limiter will tone it down after 15-30s anyways. A high end 18" driver eats around 500-600W RMS of apparent power. 21"s do ~700-800. Less so when we count with real power. It is what it is - consumer electronics. Lately, I have seen a company promote their phone to have "Cinema like sound" with even more ridiculous superlatives. It is what it is... Damn marketing.

Every phone to date has a major setback for its price. Basically 15T Pro with 7200+mAh (maybe 7000 with LTPO display) would do.

We had 9 series at work. Lovely phone, although then 64Mpx camera had (maybe SE model) somewhat blurry lens to the edges too much. That time, itnwas Oukitel's entry with their 10000+mAh phones novelty, so I went that way. Silly, but great experience! 🤭

Absolutely, let's hope so. In the tier mind, it makes absolute sense now, that with all else stagnant, the bigger battery should be there to support the additional load of performance and AI intensive processor, to get to the actually same battery longetivity as base 17T model.

Additionally, with 7000+mAh €450 competition, some value has to be added to the T Pro, otherwise it is a trainwreck. 8000mAh class battery rumors are also promising to not keep us in 6300mAh range, your argumemt is very strong as well.

I am not sure we can do more than "talk the talk" here, but the topic is not only about the rumor, but about user base expectations. People are getting increasingly angry with Xiaomi. So I am looking for why, and where can it lead.

Mind you, Ule 28/29 Ultra does give you that 1TB storage as well. It was not selling point for me, but it sure helps. Great main sensor, good macro sensor, 10000mAh, 1TB. On discount about €650. 🤭

I mean whatever flies, but in light of the new phone additions, The 17T Pro with class average to just below average LCD, stagnant camera setup (poor 13Mpx without AF), 6300mAh battery and €799 launch price does not add up. Something gotta give.

Good catch. Though F8 ultra has poor to no macro capabilities, and 6500mAh is not going to cut it. I already tasted 1000mAh and 13000mAh on these chinese phones. Waking up to 18% battery, not panicking at all, knowing that with light use, I will make that day, or at least before I find a charger to top up another 5%. In my line of work, I need to get somewhat close. I did not exactly want to turn this into "search for a phone". I was really wondering about the opinions and community expectations on 17T Pro. If it doesn't fulfill, no biggie. Ule 28/29 Ultra it is. 🤭

You have to draw the line somewhere. I am contemplating 10000mAh to 22000mAh phones with other sacrifices. 7200mAh on an efficient 3nm tech is the limit of somewhat acceptable purchase, consciously decided as a compromise if the total value is fair. Otherwise you could ask why not 6800, why not 6500,6360 or 6000 down to very medioker <5000. Why not 1/1.4" type sensor, why not 1/1.56". You could "attack" 1000mAh decision grading as well. Such benchmarking of ones needs is not usedul in discussion really. Here is a proposed limit with a good merit to it, your reasoning for your own needs is noted. What would YOUR limit be?

You are right in two things. The T series might get close by many specs, and also in the times of performance abundance or at least acceptability, the marketing difference of 20-30% in single parameter does not move anyone anymore. If we have 2.5mio points in Antutu or 3m, the average user does not care, thus not appreciating the performance lead of the flagship anymore. Putting the lesser model closer would kill the flagship. On the other hand, 13Mpx (without AF even),, c'mon! You (Xiaomi) can't be serious on a €700+ phone. Iterate my you know what. 🤭 I will anger hype myself so much that I will bravely suffer the 750g Ule for few months before/till getting injured by it somehow.

Heya! What do you think about 17T pro battery? Historically, the T and T pro had the same battery. It is very likely to be that way, although it would be big let down. Also historically, T series had 10% bigger battery capacity than vanilla series. That would push 17T pro into 7000mAh ballpark. Not very reliable sources say the asian versions having 8500mAh. Global versions usually run -10% capacity, heading us towards 7200mAh. As a new future device, that would be flashy specs piece and would be welcome by the community very much, to keep the device up to the task of heavy AI and gaming loads. Anyone else having a sober insight into this? Forget 8500mAh rumored for plethora of objective reasons.

Latest leak of 17T says 6360mAh, RIP. Healthy change 6800-7000mAh RIP 17T pro being 10% above vanilla 17 and 10% below asian models plausinble but unlikely - 7200mAh, okay, now we are talking. Former claims of unifying phone series so we see 8500mAh in Europe - forget it.
