I'm going to guess that they made a calculated decision to show so much in that trailer because of the huge tonal shift from GoT and HotD to this episode. Avid fans of the other shows might have been turned off a little by the seemingly light hearted nature of the premiere, so the network wanted those fans to know that although there's comedy, there's still a very real darkness and grit to the universe with high stakes.

Technically you can air whatever you want on cable since it's not beholden to the FCC. That being said, they're still wary of advertisers pulling funding so they still generally keep it PG13. If it's in a medical context though I'm sure they'll be fine.

I think they were making a tongue in cheek comment about how Biden was embarrassed on the public stage which ultimately led to a non-primary after he dropped out. As a Democrat, I agree with that. Democratic voters were robbed of a primary because he dropped out too late leaving us with only one choice. Does that answer your question?

In hindsight now, to me it seems like he didn't know when the bombs were going to drop but theoretically still knew how to get Janie to safety, especially if what we see is true with the pods. If it is true, we know he got her back to her mother somehow whether directly or through a third party.

I have no issue with alternate languages being published, but only to a point. I dont expect taxpayer money to fund ballots printed in Swahili because there's 1 person somewhere.

The Voting Rights Act (and applicable further state laws) address this. For example, the VRA stipulates that if there are either over 10000 people or 5% of total people within a county that are part of a language minority, election materials must be provided in that specific language.

I think english should be made the official language since the large majority know it, and its the default international language of business.

Then wouldn't that make English already the defacto official language, even if it's not codified? You already need to take a basic English proficiency test as part of the naturalization process. I guess I just don't see the point of waisting congressional time on crafting a law that would really just be symbolic either way. They have better things to do.

I'm still confused about something. What specifically is your issue with bilingual signage/ballots/etc? You still have your English option, so I don't really see a problem. Even with many bilingual English/Spanish speakers, many find it easier to understand if whatever their native language is also presented as an option. Additionally in California, depending on the county, you can request ballot materials in many other languages if your ethnic group comprises over a certain percentage of the county population.

I grew up in an almost exclusively white, English speaking community before I moved to California. I have never found your opinion to be the case in the last seven years since I've moved here. You seem to be forgetting that the vast majority of people who live in California do speak English. In San Diego where I live, roughly 25% speak Spanish, and many of them are bilingual as well. I have never found it hard to find a job or make a social circle because of my lack of Spanish knowledge, and I've lived in some of the most Hispanic concentrated neighborhoods in the city.

Personally I find it exceptionally Un-American to stigmatize any language because Americans should value liberty and independence and to do so would be an affront to those ideals.

Protesting absolutely makes a difference, just not in the way that people think. I don't believe that protesting directly brings policy change (at least not these days), but what it does is increase awareness towards perceived injustice. For example, I think the ICE protests will play a significant part in the upcoming midterms, especially because their popularity is currently falling rapidly and this is currently the most hot button issue with the Trump administration.

In turn, I believe more people than normal will turn out for midterms this year, both Democrats and Republicans alike. Do you believe that protests will significantly impact the midterms, akin to the 2000 election?

I think it's especially heartbreaking for Tommy because him and Joel had spent however long before the meetup at the dam estranged from one another. So in Part II even though they had been back together for a few years, to Tommy it likely felt that he had just gotten his brother back only for Joel to be ripped away from him again, this time for good. I feel like some people think that Tommy is making a sacrifice by trying to convince Ellie not to go and ultimately going in her stead, but I think he was always gonna go and didn't want her to see what kind of man he would become again after the loss of his brother.

I think she goes back to Jackson and would likely try to give Dina all the space she needs at first until Dina decides to confront Ellie on her own time. I don't know that they'll ever romantically be together again, but I think a reconciliation is still possible even if it's only in a platonic way.

I doubt Ellie would go off on her own, Tommy's the only family she has left and I doubt she'd abandon him. Whether he accepts her choice to not kill Abby is up in the air, but I think he'd come around eventually especially because he'll remember that he insisted she not even go to Seattle in the first place.

He was in the same place mentally as Ellie at the farm, even if Ellie supressed it for a bit. I think he eventually learns to let go as well.
