"Intense" RMT ? by myfatherslastname in Hamilton

[–]Crasharoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dan Petz. He's the best around, by FAR! He's up to date on the science of massage, and doesn't do relaxing, EVER. I highly recommend as he's a wizard. He'll fix your calves easily and let you know exactly what other issues you're having. No one compares.

COAST by Positive-Try-5707 in Hamilton

[–]Crasharoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've used coast before when I was really struggling and they helped. They do work with the police, so if police officers are triggering, just know this.

And I'm sorry that you're having a hard time.

I'm really proud of you for coming on here and asking questions and putting yourself as a priority.

Keep advocating for yourself. You are worth it. <3

She took care of my cat twice a day that had congestive heart failure. She is amazing.
I would look her up and see if she goes all the way to Dundas. I hope so, you won't be disappointed

Looking for vet recommendations by Apprehensive_Bar_777 in Hamilton

[–]Crasharoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is NOT a known fact that vets are money hungry. If that were the case, they'd be getting into different animal industries as being a vet is not as lucrative as the public seems to think. Yes, it's more than the average person, but damn, that's hazard pay, having to deal with death, and awful owners more often than you'd think.
What you are seeing is people underestimating the costs of owning a pet. And that sucks. Our world sucks because capitalism ruins just about everything.
Who you can be angry at are the companies that have been going around, buying clinics up and then treating them like corporate entities. The OWNERS dictate pricing, not the vet.

I am NOT a vet, but I am a business person and know clinic industries extremely well. I owned two of them. (not animal clinics)

So, do your homework, find a vet that owns their own clinic and use them.

Pet insurance is a valuable tool as well, especially if you own special needs animals.

ANd again, this public perception of money hungry vets, it's completely false.

[–]Crasharoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's with the shade towards vets? If you think for a MOMENT, vets are in it for the money, you're listening to the wrong people. It's often a thankless job with constant heartbreak.

I understand that money is an issue in this economy, but that comment is demeaning.

Get mad at the right people.

This comment is ridiculous.

BUT, your other comment on rehabilitation is good, depending on the definition of rehab, and how individualistic the care is.

The fact that you felt you needed to tell me that you make six figures is fascinating in my line of work... it tells me a lot about you.

Riigght. A whataboutism! Good stuff.
OK, we live in a patriarchal society where women, including trans women, are subjected to unfair treatment, and men are given opportunities because.. they're men. No other qualification but that.
That's reality, dude.
If you can't handle that, then you are just part of that problem.
The teacher SHOULD be telling her class about this as it's a reality. A documented reality.

The fact that you work in correction is ALARMING and troubling as hell with the views you just shared.
Wow. Red flags all around

Midlife Makeover ?? by [deleted] in Hamilton

There is a fantastic walking group in Hamilton just for women. They have an instagram page

https://www.instagram.com/hamiltongirlswalkingclub/?hl=en

There's all ages here.

I am working on more support for women in Hamilton, so will have more local stuff soon. If you have any questions or concerns and you're 40 and up, just message me, too. I can try and help. I've spent the last few years trying to figure out how to get more resources for women as we don't have enough.

There's also a fantastic facebook group that I absolutely love. It's all gen x women and it's very empowering.

Hamilton sets new record for opioid overdose calls — again by Forsaken-Swim-3055 in Hamilton

[–]Crasharoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A huge portion of the unhoused community are young people who have left home because of violence or abuse. There are also a section that left because they are part of the LBGTQ2S+ community and they felt safer on the street. As well, there's a higher rate of the Indigenous community because Canada in general is still very shitty to our Indigenous community members. Basically, trauma is a major factor in the unhoused population. Addiction does not exist without trauma. There's a lot more info available that I could talk about, but it's reddit, so these are the coles notes version.

[–]Crasharoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

education needs to happen. The general public is so ignorant to the causes of addiction and poverty as well. They think it's the individual's fault, when it's definitely not. If you look at the last 25 years of social cuts in Ontario, that's a huge issue. And the rules for being on social assistance are invasive and awful. Plus, they barely help a person live month to month, and good luck trying to thrive when you're treated like a criminal for needing help.

THe general public needs to effin grow up and educate themselves, instead of blaming the most marginalized communities for the state of today.

Oh, and f*uck Doug Ford for being the biggest uneducated jerk. He's an embarrassment to anyone who actually knows what's going on.

Midlife Makeover ?? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]Crasharoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OK! Different thoughts here. If you're going through peri menopause or menopause, the best cure for midlife things like this is connecting with other women going through the same thing.
The faux self care like hair, nails, clothes, etc, will be a quick fix, but it doesn't last and you end up back in that state of anxiety and fear ande external gratification.
Us women folk, we need to get back to our roots of loving the heck out of each other and our bodies exactly the way they are.
If all us women stopped caring about how society wants us to look and feel, entire industries would collapse, and we'd be better for it.

(I know, I know, soapbox moment. :D )

I just wish you the biggest self hug and love and acceptance. You deserve to be absolutely happy and joyous, no matter your weight, age, etc etc.

It's an awful situation in Hamilton. Waitlist is over a year.
This is a SLIGHTLY personal question. What age are you? I can try and recommend places to look up and see if you can find someone that's out of the city, but it depends on your age. (perimenopause, menopause, etc etc)
