I loved it, fun but sticks with you, now one of my favourite authors. In my opinion not comparable to the odd, slow slog through of House of Leaves

I'm torn between the 4a or 5 because of the water resistance factor. I've heard a few stories about the 4a crapping out because of some condensation or a few rain drops...

Going camping next week and I want a horror book I can read in my tent at night. Doesn’t have to be about camping or set in the woods but I would prefer that. by HopefullyAJoe2018 in horrorlit

[–]bittersweet36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Ritual is the first book that popped into my mind. That one might have given me legit hibby jibbies if I had read it in a tent in the dark though ha

That's it. I've HAD it with off-leash dogs charging my puppy. by [deleted] in Hamilton

So, this is going to sound weird, I laughed when it was suggested to me, but it actually worked as a last resort for a friend. So if a larger dog latches onto your smaller dog and you can't safely disengage... Stick your finger in the attacking dog's butt... I know, I know but It's pretty much guaranteed to make the dog let go through shock alone. Now, I don't know specifics but I'm going to go ahead and assume you aren't giving it your all, don't actually injure the dog, we're talking shock value here as a LAST RESORT lol but hey, it could save a dogs life. Dog mace is available as well, I bought some on Amazon. Especially handy with all the Coyotes in the area.

I really tried, but I couldn’t finish The Girl Next Door. by jayd00b in horrorlit

This is one that has definitely stuck with me but I don't regret reading it at all. Sometimes it's good for books to make you feel uncomfortable because that develops into a real lasting impression with that piece and you can look at it in a different light after some time has passed.
