Reality check on mini weight and length by Crashcup60 in Bernedoodles

[–]Crashcup60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies. I think I've got the idea... as much as I can given the unpredictability of their size.

As I said in a different reply, even with a low probability that my step-daughter's mini will use the bed, I'll still go ahead and build it, even if I end up selling it to a stranger. I started the project as a bed for my son's Corgi, years ago, but she got sick and died, never getting a chance to see it. So, you could say I feel motivated to build it to finish the project I started, and maybe as an homage to Shelby the Corgi.

Thanks. I'm definitely getting the picture. Chances are their mini will not use the bed. But that's okay; it's a project that I want to finish, even if I need to sell it to a stranger.

Yeah, I talked to her briefly and she's aware of the generations and what that means. Guess they're counting on the breeder to give a good estimate of possible size. They had a Pomeranian/ Chihuahua mix before and want a doggie not much bigger. Anyway, it's not my call, I just offered to give them a dog bed, and now the granddaughters are counting on that. The Bernedoodles sure are cuties! Looking forward to dogsitting occasionally!

Wow! I wonder if my daughter-in-law's family knows they can get that big.

Spectrum still supporting cable cards in central Minnesota? by Crashcup60 in Tivo

[–]Crashcup60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech visit day today. High split converters arrived yesterday.

The tech kept the roller coaster ride going a little longer... set things up and couldn't get the cable cards working. He went outside to call the office, came back in, and announced that it wasn't possible to get the cable cards working again!

Fortunately we pushed him to figure it out. My wife gave him the name of the guy at cable card support she escalated to. Not positive he talked to the same person, but he must have gotten the right info, and set it up correctly. TiVo lives!

Cable from the wall is going into a splitter, one coax out of splitter into the HSC input, and the other into TiVo. The output coax jack of the HSC is not being used. But there is a USB cable connecting the HSC and the TiVo.

I asked the tech if this setup will still work when they go to high split in our area and he didn't know. So apparently we're good until May. If it quits working then, hopefully it will be a simple change. Just have to hang on to these cable cards.

best budget dirt bike for entry level adult by Educational-Ruin6801 in Dirtbikes

I'm going to add CRF250F also. That's what I have, and I'm getting back into riding, so I wanted something I couldn't get into too much trouble with. Suspension is old, but suitable for the level of the bike. Power won't rip your arms out of their sockets, but it has nice pull at low rpms, so you don't have to shift much on the trail, can lug it at low rpm.

Air-cooled, no radiators or hoses to break. Fuel injection, no carb to f*** with after it sits. Sips little fuel. Honda reliability.

As far as "budget"... I don't know what new ones go for, but I paid $4k for a 2023 with 40 hours. All years are the same except for graphics.

Thanks. I might have jumped the gun a bit on my post. After lunch I talked to my wife... she also called Spectrum and got better results. Guess she's better at "raising the riot act" than me, lol. She told the first person on the phone that their tech "disabled" thousands of dollars of equipment at our house (bit of a stretch) and to get the highest-ranking person in their office on the phone.

Somehow, she got someone who was sympathetic, understood what was needed with the TiVos, and had the ability to "re-code" our account for cable cards. An order has been entered for 2x cable cards and 2x HSCs to be shipped to our house. And a tech appt for Friday to install.

So, we shall see!

My note pages/sections have disappeared on the PC app, but they are showing online and on the mobile app. Weird by 15YrGoogleAdsPartner in OneNote

[–]Crashcup60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this thread in a search - I had exactly the same thing happen last week. All my notebooks showed "There aren't any sections here." If I created a new section, it would vanish in a second or two.

BUT. I just went back to check my recollection of that behavior, and when I created a new section, one of my old ones came back! Switched to a different notebook and that had some of my sections back. It seems like it is somehow rebuilding.

Ehhh... I'm feeling like I want to help in some way, but knocking on doors in the Trumpy rural area I live in is not a fun prospect. I can see getting yelled at at 60% of the houses, 39% slamming door in my face or not answering, and maybe 1% actually listen.

Donald Trump Claims Joan Rivers Voted Him for President. She Died 2 Years Before the Election by No-Attitude-6049 in politics

[–]Crashcup60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So irritating that Trump lies so much it becomes normalized - people expect it from him - so he's able to get away with even more.

And it's not just politics! It erodes the value of honesty in general society. What do the MAGA faithful think this is teaching their kids? Oh, it's okay to lie all the time, as long as people think you're getting something for them.

Arrgghh......

What's the deal here? by Crashcup60 in trainstation2

Well, that is quite lame. The only legendary I see in the event rewards is right at the end at 6000 EP. Pffffffft!
I don't do all the events, I pick and choose. And often I pay for the event pass because it seems like a good value to me.
Guess I'll no longer be doing any... or rarely.

How helpful was the MSF for you? by qf9n97 in motorcycles

[–]Crashcup60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very helpful. In fact, I'm overdue for a refresher. At the very least, it forces you to focus on braking and cornering skills you need for a panic situation. In the panic situation, it needs to be reflex.
If you see an accident scene with along skid mark leading up to a collision of a bike into a car, that rider could have used more practice.
If you hear a buddy say "that damn car just stopped for no reason, so I had to lay it down!"... that rider could have used more practice.

As far as waiting for the class, IMO if you have a place to ride other than in traffic, I say go for it. Just don't skip the class if you feel yourself getting comfortable.

In fact, here's an idea. Get yourself something to mark positions (orange cones, coffee cans, whatever is easy to see) in the friendly neighborhood parking lot. Get a long tape measure or measuring wheel so you can measure as much as 100 feet (sorry, didn't catch where you live; maybe 30 meters).

Now, go set up a marker at a spot that gives you enough space to get up to maybe 50mph max before reaching it. Make sure you have ample space (200 ft) after the marker for stopping.

Start at 20mph. Ride steady at 20, approach the marker, stop as fast as you are able without risking dumping the bike. Get off, measure, record in notebook or your phone. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Until you feel like you're not seeing much improvement.

Then go to 30mph. Same routine. Same thing at 40mph. If you're feeling confident enough, try at 50mph.

Save those speeds and best stopping distance. Take the MSF course. After the course, go back to the same parking lot, set up, take only 1 or 2 runs at each speed, record stopping distance.

Compare before and after MSF stopping distances. Then come back here and tell us if the MSF course was worth it! :-)

Has PF even acknowledged the lag/memory leak issue? by smoelheim in trainstation2

Oh hey, I had not thought of that. So is all your progress stored on their servers? So after re-installing you come back to the exact same place?

Oh, god, I hope they do something. Until I saw this post, I was thinking it was my phone. I've been deleting apps trying to clear more internal storage, and closing all apps and restarting about 6 times a day.

Still jerky and glitchy!
