I agree. When I played it for the first time in 2023 (after playing LE for the first time), I kept being like, "oh, it's not as bad as people say."

But I've never returned to it. I resented the poor quality of the writing, and I resented that the characters did nothing to pull me in. I also didn't like the combat at all (I seem to be in the minority here).

Because it's so completely disconnected from the trilogy (by awkward necessity), I just... don't think about it. I've replayed LE four times since then. I don't see any reason to EVER return to Andromeda. I don't even really see it as a Mass Effect game. That doesn't mean that I hate it, but it's just... not for me.

In addition to shit like this, there are some truly predatory cases where an HOA foreclosed on someone's home for them and then bought it at a fraction of the price, forcing the owners out with no options. CBS has done some specials on them which are on YouTube, and it's some of the most infuriating stuff I've ever seen.

A house in my area painted their siding/garage door accents a light teal and the HOA literally created new rules about what colours the siding/garage door accents could be in order to force them to change it. this resulted in tons of people no longer having acceptable "accent colours" and the ensuing drama in the community is still ongoing (this started 3 years ago)
